By the previews that I seen for today's episode, they are trying to introduce some new hotties for Seth and Ryan. However, don't you guys think that the "girl" that Seth end up with looks too much like Anna.

Why don't they do us all a favor and have Marissa kill herself?

Having Marissa in two Scenes solo with Seth is like putting the lead in a 3rd grade class play against Olivier.

Nice comparison, Tommy.

Well at least she wasn't screaming. And those must be some magic clothes she's wearing, because I don't remember that chest size.

Olivia Wilde (bartender Alex) is 20 years old.
Adam Brody (Seth) will be 25 in December.
Rachel Bilson (Summer) is 23 years old.
Benjamin McKenzie is 26 years old.
Ain't too many spring chickens in this "teen" cast.

That was Olivia Wilde? Damn. That's the chick from Skin. She definitely does look better with her hair down.

11/18/04 recap:
New love interests are introduced, Ryan finds out that the cute redheaded physics lab partner is the same girl whom he has comically spilled ice coffee on, and bopped on the head accidentally a few times, and she views him as a rich kid with no smarts. Ryan tries to change her perception of him, and she warms up to him eventually.
Seth, in trying to show Summer he just wants to be friends with her, goes looking for tickets to "The Walkmen" and it's a sold out show at a nearby club, but seeing that employees of the club get gratis tickets, Seth begs for a job, and Alex (Olivia Wilde) gets him the job, mop-up duty, and Seth finds out later she's also young, around 17, and got kicked out of school, so she now just works at the club. Summer's current boyfriend Zach suggests that Summer go to the show without him, and to deal with her issues with Seth, being way too adult about the whole situation. But in the end, it works out for Zach as Summer realizes that Seth and her can't just be friends.
Sandy and Kirsten had to deal with Caleb undermining Kirsten by naming Julie as CEO, and Caleb offers Kirsten the CFO job while Julie is to be the figurehead while Caleb contends with his court case. Sandy gets fired from his lawfirm job because he's representing Caleb.
Seth's attempt to just be friends with Summer fails miserably. Marissa also sees Ryan getting along well with his physics lab partner, but she mistake it for Ryan moving on, so she's disappointed by this development.

Oh yeah, Summer's guy is way too perfect. When are they going to show that he is a serial killer on the side?

I've noticed several other similar lines and references watching the first season DVD while also watching the second season. For example, I had totally forgotten that Ryan had mentioned an interest in architecture in one of the first couple of episodes in season one. They never mentioned much about it again until the second season.

I like the idea of making Seth do blue collar work. It was funny to see him go walking around with the mop and bucket and not knowing what to do.
Finally, we get to see another down to earth person in the new girl. Having two love triangles in the show should make things pretty interesting.
