"Survivor: Vanuatu," 12.1/19, gave CBS the lead at 8 p.m. The combination of "Joey," 8.0/13, and "Will & Grace," 8.1/12, put NBC in second. "The O.C.," 4.8/7, was third for FOX but down a little from its first two episodes of the season. ABC's "Extreme Makeover" was right behind in fourth. UPN got a 3.4/5 from the first half of "WWE Smackdown!," while The WB aired the movie "The Whole Nine Yards."

At 9 p.m., "CSI" (19.2/28) hit the 100-episode mark in style, topping 31 million viewers for the hour. "The Apprentice," 10.3/15, kept NBC in second. ABC moved up to third with a "Primetime" special (4.7/7) tied to the opening of the Clinton presidential library. "Smackdown!" improved by a couple of tenths to take fourth place. "North Shore" managed only a 2.6/4 on FOX, while The WB's movie finished up with a 1.8/3.

LorenzoL 11-19-04 12:53 PM

As I said in last week thread, can't believe that North Shore is still on. More people wanted to watch the opening of the Clinton presidential library on "Primetime" than North Shore but troubling that OC ratings are down from the first two episodes.

Red Dog 11-19-04 01:56 PM

I wouldn't worry about The O.C. and ratings. If FOX is really worried about the ratings, they'll move it out of there. I don't think they are - they are up way up in that timeslot from a year ago.

Who is really shitting a brick? NBC. Joey is not performing well and now W&G is performing better than the lead-in.

CBS is certainly happy. Even in what has possibly been the lamest season of Survivor, they are comfortably winning the timeslot.

I think OC is winning the 18-40 Demographic though

adam brody, seth, is starting to get kinda of annoying. He used to be funny not he is going way over the top and is heading to annoying

Yeah, I noticed this as well. I just hope it's deliberate so that the audience won't immediately side with Seth instead of Zack. If so, it's working. I think Zack is much cooler than Seth, even if he and Summer seem to have zero chemistry.

As long as the OC keeps selling CD's and eventually DVD's, FOX is fine with it.

My favorite throwaway line of the night, from Ryan: "So you used the Canadian spelling, eh?"

Our prayers may be answered soon:

"Over and out?

"It" girl Mischa Barton is hinting she may leave TV's hit drama the The O.C., because her heart truly belongs to film.

While she enjoys her role on The O.C., which is now in its second season, the 18-year-old beauty isn't sure she wants to play troubled teen Marissa Cooper for too much longer.

Barton rationalizes, "I'm going back to film. It could go against me to be in a long-running show."
(That's assuming the show even has a shelf life -- so far season two has been rather unsatisfactory.)

It's understandable that the svelte starlet would want to get back to her acting roots. 2001's Tart was a real cult classic. Oh wait. No it wasn't."

Jonny2k1 11-24-04 01:26 PM

Marissa is the one character on the show that I wouldn't mind leaving. She was all right, but nothing special. If she continues to show off some massive cleavage like last week, then she should stick around for a while. I definitely think that was, uh a new development.

B.A. 11-24-04 01:29 PM

Killing off her character would be fine by me. She's definitely the weakest link in the show.

I agree. He sounds like he is on medication or something just rambling off his lines. I have to turn on close captioning so I understand him. He's drifting in to pathetic territory.

I've read a few articles that it is holding it's own on Thursdays and scoring some of the best Ratings for FOX on that night so I wouldnt worry.

Ohhh Boo Hooo. I would much rather see Theresa every week than Marissa.

Don't forget her barf-out performace as the troubled dead girl with a secret in the sixth sense. She is clearly the worst part of the OC with bad acting on a stupid character. Please go leave and do some movies.

riley_dude 11-24-04 04:04 PM

Didnt she only have one line in Notting Hill?

not liking him much this season .either. really annoying now

kenage 11-24-04 05:37 PM

I also have never found her that "hot."

flashburn 11-24-04 07:09 PM

I certainly would not be disapointed to see Mischa leave. It would feel weird for a while not having her as part of the show, but in the end, I think it will help.

Hopefully her last appearance will be Marissa and Oliver both committing suicide together. As much as I would like to never see Oliver again, at least this way you would know for sure that he is never coming back!

Verbal Gorilla 11-24-04 08:28 PM

I just want to chime in on my total agreement with Seth blowing it this season. I know the creator of the show is very young, but how about the rest of the writers. As great as the writing is, there seem to be some very obvious mistakes that could be chalked up to inexperience. Oliver was obviously one, but Seth got good feedback, and then they go nuts and over the top with him. They were smart enough to listen to the fans hate of Oliver, I hope they do the same with Seth.

B.A. 11-25-04 12:01 AM

Get rid of Mischa - bring back Amanda (permanently).

riley_dude 11-25-04 01:24 PM

I Agree that the creators took the positive feedback about Seth and went over the top with it. Wayyy over the top!

Amanda???

Amanda Righetti - she plays "Hayley". And is currently "Tessa" on NORTH SHORE.

I disagree that Seth is over the top. More Seth the better.

Superman07 12-02-04 12:09 PM

I don't know why you all hate Marissa so much.

She leaves and the show is done. It would be Dawson's Creek without Joey. Not gonna happen.

tofu 12-02-04 12:32 PM

They could just give all the drama to Summer. She can handle it. The more Summer the better.
