I liked this story arc. Brent Spiner did a great job. I thought the bit at the end about cybernetics was a little too much. Guess they had to make sure the really slow audience members "got it".

Lazy and predictable writing. I think they took every chiched plot element from a Trek series and a few from Star Trek 2 and wrote this episode with it.
The three parter started out good and got worse as it went on.

Good trilogy. The Enterprise keeps getting pretty lucky in battles though.
Who was the blonde hottie on the bridge who had a few token lines?

Yeah, I was almost expecting Soong's "son" to start the Genesis wave there at the end. But I liked the continuity with TOS's "Space Seed," it was welcome but not forced.

At least we know soong gets some, he must have a few kids.
I still find enterprise quite weak. This will probably piss a lot of people off, but apart from TOS, I think Voyager has was the best.

I agree that it will always be hard for Enterprise to show any originality, but at least I'm enjoying the show now.
I loved the reference to to Khan and the Botany Bay. Here's some interesting trivia: in the TOS episode Space Seed, Khan is introduced as Khan Noonian Singh and Dr. Arik Soong's descendant Dr. Noonian Soong created Data. This seems to indicate that they had this connection in mind years ago when Data's creator was introduced on TNG!

From: Bartertown due to it having a better economy than where I really live.

it doesn't piss me off, and I never understood the extreme hatred that voyager gets, but DS9 was better

ds9 was only good when the cold war begins with the dominion and then goes into a real war. before that it was a soap opera on a space station that was destined for cancellation.

Decent episode, but the ending had some really eye rolling moments. Two specific instances were:
Alec Newman doing a horrible Montalban impersonation on the destroyed bridge of the BOP, complete with burned face and curled up hand.
Brent Spiner's contemplation of cybernetics. When he was saying that his work would take one or two generations to finish, I thought he was going to say "perhaps, the NEXT GENERATION will finish my work."

Plenty of great little scenes. I think the first encounter with a Klingon ship harkens back to STVI, only this one was a lot less cheesy. The second was a pretty cool little maneuver.
And despite how hokey the scene with Spiner was switching to cybernetics, I liked it.

I finally managed to watch this last night and I must say it is one of my top 5 enterprise episodes. sure it took plot points from other series, but as somebody said, after 4 series and x epsiodes, it's hard to come up with original situations. different stories yes, but situations, no.
it really felt like old trek.
things i enjoyed:
a viallan set against archer (funny bits)
2 hotties (bridge lady and percies [sp?])
brent spiner - even if his decendant did make the robots, it's interesting to see he still didn't get it right.
archer getting out of his situation at the beginning - it has tension and wasn't a gimme.
encounters with the bops and how they were resolved
things i think could have been better:
villan was good, but he was a sicko. especially kissing her after he killed her.
why the hole? couldn't have been a scorch mark?
bridge scene was similar to twok.
overall, a good episode that i enjoyed. so far it seems like these 3 episode story arch are helping. perhaps they will have some longer ones in seasons to come that build of other arch that will arise this season.

Since I know that some people don't want to be spoiled, I started a new thread with details of the big three-part arc planned for February.
