The ony thing that it even remotely works for has been the DS-themed episode of Cinematech, that showed the game footage on the dual "Screens".
But hey, it's G4, what do you expect?

Easily the most retarded thing I've ever seen a network do. I flipped the channel expecting to see the shows filling up half the screen or something. You can't even see a single thing going on in any of the shows. These idiots might as well take the final step and just show a test pattern.

Just turned it on. That IS stupid! Not only is it TINY, but the bottom "screen" is showing something else and it's totally distracting, as if the itty bitty screen wasn't bad enough.

That's just insane! OMG! Has G4 finally realized that their programming is total crap?!?!?
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself and I sounded like a fool trying to explain to someone that doesn't get G4. " You see they still have their programs on, only they are in a tiny window like it's in some sort of new frickin' toy,, yeah I know it doesn't make any sense but listen closer this time,,It's regular programs but like you are watching it on a gameboy...."

I love video games, but it's fucking ridiculous when a channel becomes one giant ad. G4, techtv, zdtv has lost this 22 year old male. I only watch Adam Sessler and Morgan Web, but I'm sure they'll get rid of them too.

It irritates me to no end, all the picture squishing and banners and animations that explode at the bottom of the screen and they wonder why people stop watching their shows?
I want the old TECHTV back. I was a loyal viewer of that channel when it was added to my old cable system a few years ago. I loved the CALL FOR HELP-athons after Christmas, Extended Play with Adam and Kate and the 90 minute Screensavers with Pat Leo Megan Morgan Yoshi and Robert Herron. I learned a lot from that show and they seemed like a family.
The decline of the channel has been really sad. I don't expect any improvements from G4 just more misery.
It's too bad the people in charge are so blind to all the fond memories we have of that once great channel.
BTW does anyone know what happened to Sumi Das? Last I remember she was covering the dreary Petersen story for MSNBC but then I think she left.

I was trying to imagine who the guys could be making these programming decisions at G4, first to push out Pat and Leo, and now even Kevin and Alex will seem like the good old days probably (not that I've watched more than 15 minutes of them) - and for someone reason I thought of this movie:

Leo mentioned a couple of things over the last few weeks of CFH. He said that they were in talks about having CFH picked up in the US by a TV channel that primarily deals with how to things.
He also said that they are seriously looking at offering it via the web for monthly subscription.

I miss Leo.

I haven't seen the new G4 or whatever, but I can say that I used to watch TechTV every day. I can't believe all that I hear about what they did to the channel. It seems very sad.

The sad thing is, all the complaining that you hear isn't exaggerated in the least. The channel really is that bad.

It is quite sad, actually. I just got cable for the first time in years about six months before the merger, so I had just discovered all the neat programming that TechTV had when it all went wrong.

Looks like they have new co-hosts for TSS. From Kevin Rose site:
Well my friends – TSS has evolved once again. This coming Monday the 29th, you’ll see a brand new cast take the helm. We’ve had a lot of talented hosts as part of the TSS family, and now we have two new additions: Kevin Pereira, and Chi-Lan Lieu.
Links for Alex and Kevins blogs where they talk about it can be found here:

Ah sounds great, some Pulse people who have been hired as hosts, rather than people who are interested in the subject matter they'll be showing. I saw Pulse once, and I can say it wasn't as bad as g4tv.com or whatever the hell their other show was. Those people were TOTALLY clueless, they said the stupidest shit. You could tell they hadn't played a video game before they got the job.

I'm seriously going to contact my cable company and ask them if they can drop this channel in favor of something more useful, such as another shopping channel.

I actually think Kevin will be a much better fit than Alex. He's pretty funny IMHO. He does know his shit when it comes to gaming, but I really have no clue as to how far his computer knowledge goes.

Why do they even have commercials? The whole channel is a commercial. That may be the most retarded thing I've ever seen on tv.
