10.5 II: Aftershocks! (Or "lord, spare us!")
This tidbit comes to us from Badmovies.net:
Shudder. . . .
Speaking of second helpings, NBC made an announcement in the past week that is sure to thrill fans or really stupid made-for-TV disaster movies.
NBC executives are developing a sequel to last May's earthquake mini-series 10.5, which scored big ratings on the Nielsen scale and ended up the top-rated movie among young adults on any network in two years.
John Lafia, who co-wrote and directed the original, is already working on the script for the four-hour follow-up and is attached to direct, says Vareity. Howard Braunstein, Michael JaffeMichael Jaffe and Gary Pearl are also set to return as executive producers for Jaffe/Braunstein Films and Pearl Pictures, respectively.
Lafia said he hopes to get a draft of the untitled sequel to NBC executives by Thanksgiving; NBC will then decide whether to greenlight the project.Beau Bridges, Kim Delaney and Dule Hill starred in the original mini-series.
The sequel will pick up where the original left off: Parts of California have drifted off into the Pacific Ocean, leaving millions dead or devastated by the destruction. But while shaken survivors might have assumed the worst was over, it turns out the Big One was just the beginning.

Doesn't NBC realize the reason everyone was watching it was to see how bad it would be? I hope the sequel is even worse. 10.5 was the funniest thing on NBC since seinfeld.
