Maybe we should start making separate "it sucks/it's boring" threads for each show.
Didn't mean to offend.

Well I can't speak for anyone else, but my post earlier was the first time I posted in the survivor thread. I thought the season started out ok, but wasn't taken enough by it to come here and post. Didn't like last night ep at all and felt like saying so, so I did. I do know what you mean though (same thing goes on in any and every smallville thread).

I agree- while this isn't one of my favorite seasons, I tune in every week. Last night's ep was the best of the season so far!
And how about Ami in that blue bikini?!
I think she looks better now than she did in Playboy!
My wife and I were talking about Jeff's comment on "at least one more night." Does anyone think he's saying that just to keep the survivors on their toes?

Did anyone notice the eyebrows? I'm wondering if the producers are taking a more active role this season vis a vis appearance, etc. No one seems to have the levels of grime, sores, insect bites and festering diseases that they've had in previous seasons, and last night a number of the female players' eyebrows were very obviously plucked and shaped, Ami and Eliza most obviously (or perhaps it's just that I spend more time watching them than I spend watching Scout). Did anyone else notice this?

I don't know if I'm burnt out on the concept, seen it all before, or what but this show is boring me to tears. Might have to drop it.

And as jay77 asked, why watch a show you don't like? I like the show in general, but don't really care much for this season. That conclusion can't really be reached right off the bat though, as each season has a new cast of people whom you have to get to know before you realize it isn't for you. Kind of like Real World or any other reality show really, y'know? I've given other seasons of Survivor a chance only to stop watching because I don't much like the people (or just need a break from the show). Wasn't trying to come in here and rain on the thread. Just thought I was free to post what I thought.

This season is a bit slow. It's hard to follow-up All-Stars. We have to transition back to a cast of unknowns and therefore we are not predisposed to the characters. As with every season, it will get better. The fewer the contestants, alongside the fact that we get to know the remaining better each week always makes for good television. This season will inevitably pick up.

I'm appreciating this season much more because none of the people know each other, and the show (to me) is starting to lose it's predictability - in terms of who is getting eliminated next.
I'm starting to like Rory now - just wondering what the hell he'll do or say next.
As for Ami, I think the more she takes a firm stand (and disagreeing with tribe-mates in the process), the more likely it is for the others to turn on her.
I still dig her lower back tattoo though

Conflicted over how to vote in the upcoming Tribal Council, one castaway prays for a sign to guide the decision. POOF! The sign appears.

Weird, I actually noticed that myself. Normally I wouldn't notice anything but boobs.

Let me start this post by saying that I have not made a Survivor post all season. That being said, I have watched all the seasons of Survivor (and will continue to do so) but this is the worst one so far, although I thought last night was the best ep of the season so far. None of the characters has really captured my attention yet.
I was talking to my uncle (also a fan of the show) and he thinks the problem could be that the contestants know the show too well now. He said it might be more interesting, competitive again if you get contestants all between the ages of 25-35 or some common age range like that. That way, you don't have the obvious targets (the young, strong, good looking ones or the old ones) and the game becomes about the personalities and strategy again.
I realize the one big problem with this is that you lose out on some of the diversity in casting, but this season should show that if you are a certain "type" then you will automatically be a target anyway.
But who knows? Next season they might have another great cast and prove to us that the show isn't old at all.

I'm thinking that Rory might be safe for now.
Yassur has lost all four challenges since the shuffle. They're in trouble.
I can't believe Scout voted to boot Rory. Jesus, do they want to lose every singel challenge? Now's the time to pick off the dead wood instead of doing this "girl power" shit. He performed well in both challenges, and if they know what's good for them, they'll keep him around.
Just going by last night's votes, I have to wonder if Scout isn't going to be the next to go. She's fucking worthless out there.
I think the show's biggest mis-step this season was to segregate the tribes by sex. On the female tribe, they went from sisterhood from catty in about ten seconds, and the geeks ganged up on the jocks in the male tribe. This led them to losing a couple of their potentially interesting players quickly; namely Bradley and Dolly. It's really quite interesting to see how well Lopevi is able to work together by breaking up the old alliances. John seems to be integrating well into the Sarge-Chad-Chris alliance, and Twila and Julie seem to be mixing in well, too.

Rory impressed me with his strategy but he's not out of the woods yet. The water challenge was excellent and Ami's "who can I scapegoat to keep Rory around?" strategy was interesting, although if Eliza had gone on the same night as Stacy on the Apprentice it would have been banner TV for getting rid of annoying idiots.

About the show being boring. I feel like I can say whatever the hell (okay, heck!) I want since I've never missed one episode. It is true that this kind of show can take some time to get to a point where you know the people and have a rooting interest in who moves on. I really don't know if I'm actually tiring of the whole idea or if the people chosen are just a little snoozy. Half way through All-Star I was already looking forward to the older format of unknowns. The two seasons before All-Star were great.
I continue to watch because I know that the show can still get interesting if the right dynamics crop up. So far, not much of this has happened.

Nope, you're not the only one. I've stated similar sentiments in the previous threads. Very nice indeed. And B.A.'s favorite isn't too shabby either.

Hey Josh, I'm pretty sure Scout isn't in any danger. She seems to be in pretty tight with Ami and she probably ok'd the vote with her. Chances are Scout made some type of a deal with Lisa when she gave the older women the upper hand by voting out Mia and Scout was just giving her a sympathy vote.

Amy is sure turning into a bitch, I thought she was quite nice in the beginning (especially after I saw her playboy shots). I have a new respect for Julie now
