The Apprentice 10/14/04

Don't know if this task was to stop the bleeding for the women or not.

I only know the name of Raj and Andy on the men's team. But the guy who was the project manager got the boot, whoever he was. This show is also becoming a show to fold clothes by.

If there ever was a task specifically designed to get the women a win, this was it...what a crock

Looks like Kevin was right. The designer for the men SUCKED. Those clothes were hideous. I'm not surprised the men lost. What do men know about fashion? I agree with the firing. For him to blame pricing and then only bring one of the two involved in pricing reeked of favoritism. And all that crap about the young guy not being respected was a cheap attempt to offer up a scapegoat.

Trump is going to LOVE the first PM to bring 3 back to the boardroom.

Nah, seems fair. An earlier task required them to develop a toy for little boys. Didn't the women (plus Bradford) win that one?

Yeah, I coudn't believe it, since the men were like "We knew what looks good on a woman." I had a hard time believing that any man would look at those frumpy clothes and be like "Ooh, I want some of that."

I half-expected them to make the models wear bikinis.

Ok, so one thing I'm really hating about this season is how the editing is telegraphing which team is going to win and which team will lose. Whichever team is shown having major problems is losing, and then they'll quick cut to the team that's going to win doing the same task the first team is doing - except they're having no trouble at all with the task. They've done it every ep so far.

Raj is a personality, but he would get on my nerves with the quickness. I was so glad when that one guy pulled Raj up for messing with the designer while she was trying to work.

It was lame taking the "young" guy into the board room. I missed when they said how old everyone is, but all the guys look pretty young to me, especially the project manager this week.

This episode seemed suspect to me also..

Do the teams get the chance to choose from the same designers? The one the girls choose, seemed to do everything, and was helpful, he did the sheet for the show etc.. The one the guy's had wasn't helpful at all, then again, the guys just cared about the models.. to begin with. How did she expect them to come up with designs though? Isn't that her job?

I dont' get what John or whatever his name is who got voted off, was talkinga bout working so hard, I didn't seem he do anything.. Raj is the best to me, he's pretty funny, although I do see he's always trying to be funny etc..

Pretty predictable episode, so obvious the women were going to win.

this was a task that the men had very little chance of winning.

The guys didn't know crap about fashion. The 2 gay guy buyers were like, are there any famous straight male designers out there?

The men's team designer, Ilsa was a part of the problem too. Why did she only have one item finished in the morning?

I've liked Raj throughout but on this task he was so counterproductive, it wasn't even funny. In the clothing place, he kept asking Ilsa stupid questions even when everyone told him to leave her alone. Then when the models came in, he kept trying to hit on them. So far Raj has unsuccessfully hit on Anna Kournakova and the models.

The random project manager thing for the men bit them in the ass this week. If this is one week you didn't wanna be project mgr for the men, it was definitely this week. Sorry to see John go, but he definitely was stupid for not bringing Wes in as well.

He's 23

As for the ep, it was so-so imo. Like some others it seemed that this was in the bag for the women from the get go. The women really have to get Elizabeth booted the first chance they get as she seems to be really grinding on their rest of their nerves. I'll be curious to see the expanded boardroom on Sat to see if there was anymore to John's near tearful speach on how much it sucks to be in the boardroom

Agreed. I have worked with people like Raj and they did get on my nerves after a while. What's up with those stupid bow ties? His constant scamming on chicks is becoming embarrassing.

The comment someone made about the guy who knew design wearing pink underwear was idiotic. I guess he doesn't realize that homosexuals are in the military and that not all of us are sissy-boys. By the way, I would never wear pink underwear

I thought Maria did really well this episode. She handled being project manager very well.

Im pretty sure it wasnt a shot at gays, but a shot at a West Point graduate designing a womans jacket. Even if he was openly gay, it would have been odd to see him design clothing.

BTW...that guys IS sharp.

You are most likely correct. The pink underwear comment just pissed me off.

Yeah, the guy who knew design is very sharp. He went in there and got things rolling....must be the West Point in him

Yeah. They did something like this in one challenge last year too to even the numbers. Pretty lame and why The Apprentice will never be the best reality game show.

The guys did screw up by picking that eccentric designer. Whenever I see these fashion shows, unless the models are modeling bikinis or undergarments, the fashion looks like crap - like I can't imagine any woman in her right mind wearing any of the designs, except for maybe Carrie Bradshaw on S&TC.

Kelly on the guy's team is really impressive. He totally stepped up to fill in a lot of the holes that were missing from John's leadership. John completely deserved to be fired.

To be fair - they also had to design a toy for young boys. The men should have kicked ass on that one - and they lost.

But yeah - good God - I'm not fashionists but the men's clothing was horrible.

I think I would laugh out loud if I saw a woman wearing any of that on the street.

Raj needs to get the boot. Besides being bombastic and unforgettable, I don't get what value he adds or what his contribution is.

Stop it Jadzia! I was about to post the same thing. Then we both are strange because there's something about him that gives me the warm fuzzies.

My wife says the same about Raj when I asked her if she thinks he gets laid a lot.

"It's the accent. And the lips."

Kelly is my pick to win. He's easily the best player on the show.

Hee! Okay, glad I'm not the only one. Although my mother (age 73) likes him too. We both think he's like an old-fashioned movie star from the 1930's or something.

He reminds me of the old comedy stars. I'm waiting for his bowtie to start twirling like a propeller.

I forgot to post this before.

The Asian women in the white suit who was sitting next to Trump was Andrea Jung, the CEO of Avon. Here's her bio on Avon.com Link

I used to work in the building where Avon's headquarters is. 1345 6th Ave in NYC (it's the Alliance Capital building). Neways, Avon was on the same elevator bank with the company that I worked with and I'd see her in the elevator all the time. When we read in the papers that she was voted the third most powerful women by Fortune Magazine, we were shocked...she makes almost $10 million a year.

Another thing is that we hated Avon cuz they had three consecutive floors and they would stop on all 3 floors without fail

I wonder why The Donald had to redo most of his audio right before the firing? That was some of the most obvious post-production editing I've ever heard.
