Desperate Housewives 10/10
"Ah, But Underneath"
Gabrielle goes to great lengths to hide her affair, Lynette tries tough love to discipline the twins, Bree and Rex attempt marriage counseling, and Susan musters the courage to invite Mike Delfino to dinner, only to have Edie horn in on her big night. Meanwhile, the ladies can't decide what to do with the disturbing note they found in Mary Alice's things. |
I'm actually looking forward to this. That preview had me
We need more commercials with Foghat and *ahem* Car Washing. |
watching right now
|
Ted from Scrubs!
Sweet! |
This show blows. I'm watching it now and find the narration totally annoying. It should be trashier. Looks good in HD, though!

I couldn't believe it when Ted from Scrubs shows up as Dr. Goldfine, the marriage counselor for the Van De Kamps.
Susan's quest for Mike gets some laughs from me, but it's still so pathetic is spots. Lynette's life just sucks. Gabrielle's dalliance with the yard boy gets a little disturbing (like doing John in his room at his parent's house), and she's in that quandary of being with a man of means that she has no true feelings for, while knowing a boy with heart is out there. Love or money, love or money, there you go. BTW, Eva Longoria was on the defunct L.A. Dragnet last season (she was the alternating latina detective whenever Roselyn Sanchez wasn't in the episode). Mike is definitely scoping out the entire neighborhood, though didn't buy his "my dead wife left me the dog" story. Edie's almost too slutty to be considered a real character. So what was in that trunk that Mary Alice's husband chucked into the water/lake? |
Not as good as the premiere.
The scenes with Lynette and her kids cracked me up but I hope they give Huffman more to do. Susan's daughter is a better character than Susan. Eva Longoria in that black dress:drool: |
Originally posted by MrX Susan's daughter is a better character than Susan. Thank God the chase for Mike is over! Too much drama, and that's not how they promote it. Even the affair with the gardener has turned serious. -ohbfrank- Oh, and there's no way that Mrs. Nosey McSnoot could figure out how the fire started by finding that measuring cup. Give me a break. |
watched for the first time last night. fun show. added it to the season pass list..
can someone give me a quick recap of last week to get me caught up? what was up with the gun/pictures/maps/etc. in mike's closet? |
Decent episode last night, but like already stated, not as good as the premiere.
|
Who is Mike investigating? Who is he investigating for, someone on the block or someone else? I wonder if he sent the note and is just sitting back to see how everyone else responds.
Still enjoying the show. |
The neighbor that Edie is staying with scares me. She's defnitely got something wrong with her.
|
Show was pushed back to midnite due to late Redskins game. Got it on TiVo and hope to catch up sometime this week.

At the beginning of the episode, the woman narrating the show shot herself in her kitchen and nobody knows why. They have a funeral where you meet all the characters and then Mike moves in across the street from Susan (Teri Hatcher). Susan and Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) both try to lay claim to Mike first in their not so subtle way. Edie invites Mike over to her house and Susan sneaks in and accidentally burns the house down with nobody finding out or getting hurt. Near the end of the episode 4 of the women are taking away their dead friend's clothes and they find the note ("I know what you did") and we find out that Mike is some kind of cop or FBI agent and also wasn't the guy in Edie's house when Susan snuck in. |
Can anyone tell me what happened in the last ten minutes? It came on late (as is in after midnight!) because of football here in DC. I am surprised Tivo caught it at all! I am getting it this Saturday but not if someone can tell mewhat happened. :-)
Thanks!! Sam |

I don't like the nosy neighbor. She is going to stir up some trouble for sure.
|
Those two didn't get very dirty digging around that burned down house did they?
I like Teri and Eva. Felicity needs more to do. Marcia Cross plays one hell of a creepy lady. |
Agreed that Felicity needs more to do. But her role in the housewives quartet is "the one with all the kids," unfortunately. Hope she gets more screen time with other adults.
If Mike's "dead wife" story is true, perhaps he's in the neighborhood to get revenge on the person who killed his wife? Just an idea. |
Originally posted by Roto I'll give you a real quick recap of the premiere. At the beginning of the episode, the woman narrating the show shot herself in her kitchen and nobody knows why. Several funny spots in this episode. As soon as Lynette dumped her kids and drove around the corner, you just knew those kids weren't going to be there when she came back. "Kids, RUN!"
The coughing dog. Killing a pet is not the best way to endear yourself to a guy. Agree that there's absolutely no way the nosy neighbor could find a burned measuring cup and make that jump. Eva in disguise, sneaking into her boyfriend's house - -other- Perhaps the success of this show and "Lost" will signal a return to quality episodic television, and less of the reality craze. |
I'm really enjoying the show, although the forum seems to be turning on it quickly. Might as well join the discussion for the last few weeks that it's here.
The "Secret under the Swimming Pool" is reminding me of the Sam Shephard play "Buried Child." I'm hoping they go a more original direction. |
Originally posted by B.A. Marcia Cross plays one hell of a creepy lady. I'm digging this show so far. Really curious to see what secrets come out with the trunk and the narrator's death and all. ABC has a couple winners in this and Lost. |
Originally posted by MrX Eva Longoria in that black dress:drool: Wow - what an ass!!!! What a great show. Did anyone see Teri Hatcher on Stern last night. She looked amazing. Great dress. Great lap dance. |
This episode was just ok. It's definitely going to have to pick up to keep me watching.
