Originally posted by Red Dog Did anyone see Teri Hatcher on Stern last night. She looked amazing. Great dress. Great lap dance. As for the show, it's ok so far. The narration drives me up the wall. I could do with less of Huffman's story line and more of Longoria and Hatcher :D |
Originally posted by Dubya She looked fantastic. After how she has looked the last seven or eight years I thought we had lost her ;) She definitely is the comeback of the year. I thought Teri had hit the wall about 5 years ago. I don't know if she had some work done or what, but she has reverse jumped the shark. As for Huffman, I totally disagree. I love that storyline as much as the others. How many times do we hear in life how great children are and how they make your life better, blah blah blah. Great to see a refreshing take on this subject. |
My wife is loving this show and i'll keep watching it since its pretty entertaining.

Teri Hatcher looked pretty good on the Howard Stern show (on E!) last night.
|
No, I don't think it's been made clear whether he's a fed or a villain. This episode was just ok. It's definitely going to have to pick up to keep me watching. This is the smartest show to come along in a long time. |

I can see where some might say that this ep wasn't as good as the premiere, but I still really liked it. There was more than one occasion that it had me laughing out loud (the nosy neighbor cracks me up).
I also hope that they do a little more with Felicity's character. I thought her scenes were funny with her kids this ep, but I wouldn't like to see her stretch a bit more. Looks like we might see more of her in the next ep, judging by the previews. |

Originally posted by Roto My first guess would be that he's a cop staking out the dead woman's house, I don't know.... I'm thinking maybe a bad guy.. Ah but fun to have a return of a soapy like show with an ep to ep story line that makes ya wonder about who is doing what to who. heh |
I thought that he was a criminal, with no thoughts that he might be good.
The music when he is on alone is creepy, ergo he is bad. |
I figured that he was up to no good. The wad of cash was one red flag and it looked like he had information on everyone in the neighborhood, not just one person that he was targeting for an investigation. I don't know.
And as for the German shepherd thing ... Well, I have a German shepherd and I can assure you that I don't work any law enforcement agency. Can't someone just have a German shepherd because they are good looking dogs and very intelligent. |
OK, I think I only really harped on the whole dog thing because I wanted to find an excuse to say that I thought my German shepherd was much better looking than Mike's.
OK, I feel better now that I have bragged about my pooch a little. |

Since I have never been a person who wants kids I actually like that part of the Huffman story line, but I'd rather see more of Longoria and Hatcher ;) And even though she's playing an uptight straight arrow, Marcia Cross still looks very good (liked her ever since she played Kirstie Alley's sister on Cheers). |
Here is an interesting stat: according to the Wash Post, this episode was 3rd overall last week in the Men 18-49 demographic. Only MNF and CSI were ahead of it.
ABC has to be absolutely ecstatic about this. I'm sure they figured that they would get the women to watch, but to do so well among men, particularly with football on ESPN at the same time, is remarkable. Plus it is really hurting L&O: CI. |
-from USA TODAY
"ABC's Desperate Housewives held up extremely well in its second week, declining just 7% among viewers and 3% among young adults. (New shows typically drop 15% in their second week as early samplers abandon them.) Housewives ranked fourth for the week but remains the top new series this season. Drama Lost also held up in its third week, dropping 3% among viewers, yet gaining among core viewers 18 to 34. Both appear to be solidifying their status as immediate hits, a rarity on networks in recent years." |
A nice thread on Eva Longoria, AKA Gabriele in the DVD Talk Adult forum.

Yeah it isn't hard to see why the show does so well among men 18-49. ;) I hadn't seen those Maxim pics before - were they from a recent issue? Very nice. I am a little behind. I had seen the FHM pics. As I said in last week's thread, Eva is #1 on Red Dog's TV Hottie list. |
I missed this ep., but from what I have read I will be tuning in this Sunday as this show sounds pretty dang amusing.
|
I don't know if it will continue, but there is a "replay" Saturday night of last Sunday's episode.

Originally posted by Roto I'll give you a real quick recap of the premiere. At the beginning of the episode, the woman narrating the show shot herself in her kitchen and nobody knows why. They have a funeral where you meet all the characters and then Mike moves in across the street from Susan (Teri Hatcher). Susan and Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) both try to lay claim to Mike first in their not so subtle way. Edie invites Mike over to her house and Susan sneaks in and accidentally burns the house down with nobody finding out or getting hurt. Near the end of the episode 4 of the women are taking away their dead friend's clothes and they find the note ("I know what you did") and we find out that Mike is some kind of cop or FBI agent and also wasn't the guy in Edie's house when Susan snuck in. |
that's the secret to get lots of viewers, put a hotter than hell model on there and you have 10 million men GIVEN
|
Originally posted by IDrinkMolson I thought it turned out that Mike wasn't in the house with Edie? Remember he walked up to the crowd watching the fire, and Susan was glad/surprised to see him? |
