It really does nowadays. I can't think of any shows I could be excited about. Except SNL and the news. Go news!

Usually when someone has an opinion they like to back it up with some examples to prove their point. Now could you explain why TV sucks? Anything really would do on why you have come to this conclusion

Now MTV hasn't focused on music for years. They should really change the name to Road Rules VS Real World TV. SNL hasn't been funny in some time.

Ok, Mtv2. I get Much Music here and all they play is poorly crafted wannabe mtv shows about people's rooms being made over in the style of an artist, or people running obstacle courses to prove they are the biggest ___ fan. SNL is funny, I mean not as funny as it was in the late 90s, but it's still funny. I love Amy Poelar.

SNL is still not funny. I may be proven wrong this season that is starting up. But based on the past season, It is still not quality tv.

Now I really want to know why you suggested that TV SUCKS. I mean there isn't one new show or new season of a show that interest you? Vegas? Veronica Mars? Scrubs? I mean there is a variety of things and I have to wonder if you are really looking for something to enjoy or if you just want to generalize on how tv sucks for no reason.

Some examples would be nice.

If you dislike TV that much I'm not really sure why you would say this in the TV forum without elaborating anymore.

If you say something along the lines of "TV sucks. It really does. I do not think there are any good shows on because..." Plus, it makes for more stimulating conversation! :)
Otherwise you look like you simply being a pain in the a$$ - especially since you just registered.

I mean come on - TV does suck for the most part, but there is plenty out there worthy of your attention. If you don't have HBO, rent all the previous seasons of Six Feet and Sopranos. That'll keep your mind of broadcast TV for a while. :D

Hard to believe UPN is on the radar with Veronica Mars and UPN, go figure. And ABC is making a mini comeback with WifeSwap, Lost and Desp Wives.

I like Amy Poehler, but I liked her much better on UCB. Haven't watched SNL in literally years.
I liked MadTV, although I don't like some of the recurring characters [I *HATE* Stuart. And really, I don't think I like any of Michael McDonald's characters, they're all pretty much the same].
Reno 911 is crude and hilarious.
Dead Like Me on Showtime.
Simpsons still ekes out a laugh occasionally.
And I've been enjoying Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
eMpTyVee is a total joke. I watch VH1 Classic when I want to see actual videos.
And I also despise the 'reality' genre--it just seems that those show make up a great proportion of the broadcast hours.
TV doesn't necessarily suck, but old Sturgeons' Law is definitely in place, and when 100+ channels exist, there's room for a whole lot more crap.

I doubt ANYBODY (even das Monkey) is qualified to make a blanket statement like "TV Sucks." There are so many programs on so many stations out there that it would be impossible to watch them all.

If you would've said "TV ain't what it used to be" I would've agreed with you. No Joss Whedon. WAY too many "reality" shows. WAY too many L&O/CSI clones (Medical Investigation? Dr. Vegas? Ugh.) Nobody (on the major networks at least) is even trying to give us original concepts to watch any more.

Lost is the ONLY new show that has garnered any interest from me. There's some well established shows on the networks that I still like to watch- but way too many of those are on their last legs.

I won't go as far as to say "TV sucks" but I'm definitely waiting for the next turn around in quality.

I would like to point out that bando sucks as well.

I would even go so far as to say that while I enjoy TV less as a whole, I enjoy the shows I watch now even more than I enjoyed the shows I watched in the past. If that makes sense. In the 90s, my only "swear-by" shows were Batman: TAS, The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Babylon 5, and the early years of the X-Files. That's five shows over an entire decade. Here, we're winding down the first half of this decade and I have nine. Not bad.

i watch alot of movies on digital cable and i watch mtv2 and mtv hits alot.

I don't watch alot of new tv either. Nick at Night & TV Land are my saving grace.

I used to *really* like N@N and TVland. But Full House doesn't really fit my definition of 'classic tv.'
The timespan before something becomes 'nostalgia' has drastically shortened.

I liked watching the History Channel.

I watch the 2-hrs special on the War of 1812 a week ago. There were lotta stuff I didn't know about after watching it. The British may have burnt down our White House but we did kick them limey's butts at the Battle of New Orleans. :)

Well he never really peaked. Always was just pretty bland.

I have to ask why he wonders why some people on this forum sound like pricks to him when he starts silly threads like this asking for such treatment.

* Gather up a bunch of photos of young, reasonably attractive people. Make sure about 1/10 of the photos are of either Jessica or Ashlee Simpson.

* Download the ten most popular songs right now.

* Play those ten songs in a continuous loop while staring at the different photos.

* Imagine the people in the photos are a) doing or saying something stupid, b) bickering or bitching about something, c) trying to hook up with someone, d) discussing their house or car or other property, or e) being attention whores in general.

There, now you have MTV!
