The Apprentice 9/29/04

The women's team is really bad. I told y'all that Stacy is a snarky one. Jenn C was out of her league. Jenn M has a good head on her shoulders.

TruGator 09-29-04 09:18 PM

The leader for the women (Jen C) was crazy! She kept interrupting Trump's assistant and she thought she was playing Survivor with her alliances. Glad to see her go.

The men looked like they were having a good time, and it showed with their performance.

Steam 09-29-04 09:21 PM

This show can use more Bill and Carolyn. They kicked ass tonight.

Patman 09-29-04 09:21 PM

Jen C has a problem with just adding extraneous verbal crap to conversations. She's just wired that way, and it was a habitual thing that she could not get rid of during her stay on the show.

FantasticVSDoom 09-29-04 10:51 PM

Are they making the show so predictable on purpose at this point so they can change it up towards the end? I thought Carolyn was going to come across the table and beat Jen C down, now that would be must see TV...

Kal-El 09-30-04 12:26 AM

Man this season's girls SUCK. No one's even remotely attractive or interesting.

jiggawhat 09-30-04 12:47 AM

I love watching the conniving and backstabbing with these women. It's freakin great TV.

taa455 09-30-04 12:55 AM

It amazes me how inept and just plain weak the women are this season compared to last. The "gay table" was a hilarious twist on the use of sex appeal by the guys. The guys are working so well together. I really like Kevin and the fact that he called the girls out on the Stacie situation, how they knew she didn't have a psychological problem but were only playing that card to save their own incompetent asses.

Oh, and (in regard to the previews for next ep)
Spoiler:
adding Pamela to the women is not going to help. It will be a disaster.

Red Dog 09-30-04 07:07 AM

This was definitely the best episode of the season so far. The challenge was kind of eh though. The food is totally out of their hands (at least they both tied on that).

Loved the catiness.

Yeah, I liked the twist use of male sex appeal :) I loved that the women were called out for using Stacie J. as a scapegoat.

I still think "Little" Stacy is a toad but she did not deserve to be called into the boardroom.

Jen C. was a bitch for stereotyping Jewish people. Those old gals were picky but it doesn't mean a hill of beans what religion they are.

I think Maria is beautiful....she looks like a model.

Nefarious 09-30-04 08:08 AM

I thought it was a pretty good strategic move (maybe unintentional) by Sandy. The decor got terrible ratings but she had convinced Jen C she had her back. As a result, Jen C doesn't bring her into the boardroom (which was a major strategic flaw) and gets very obviously called out on it. Jen C would have done better to bring her in, letting her know she would in advance if the decor ratings were low, but that they could then work together to oust whoever else she brought in. Jen C was trying to get rid of "both" people she didn't like instead of just focusing on one.

However, I am satisfied with the result because Jen C came off as extremely immature. The faces she was making while trying to chat people up were unbelieveable. The ol' bird behind the back was pretty stupid too. I don't think she "gets" a lot of things. She blamed the customers instead of focusing on possible leadership and team flaws. Most importantly she should have been cognizant enough to realize that everything is being filmed and this is going to be on national television. As most of last years contestants showed, if you do well the opportunities will come. Maybe not from Trump but from elsewhere. Acting like she did in this episode would kill any chances of offers if you ask me.

Ditto. I think she's extremely beautiful.

The blonde chick that was in the boardroom looks like she is shell-shocked from last week still. She constantly looks like she is on the verge of tears. I can see her having some kind of breakdown.

Glad to see who went go. She was all over the place.

I liked seeing Bill replace George. Too bad we didn't get a reason why George was not there (at least last year they told us that he was on business - they barely acknowledged him last night).

Did Tall Pam get any camera time last night at all?

Nefarious 09-30-04 08:20 AM

The Donald told the group that George was off handling something (I just don't recall exactly what he said). His absence was explained though.

I was waiting for someone on the women's team to realize they had just kicked off the only person on their team, Stacie J, that actually had any restaurant experience. They are teh suck.

iggystar 09-30-04 09:07 AM

Yes, Maria is very pretty.

Stacie J "the restauranteur" OWNS A 'SUBWAY' IN HARLEM -- i dont think her experience making sub sandwiches wouldve helped

Why is there one girl on the guy's team?

I think Carolyn has been spending some time with a beautician or a plastic surgeon or something...

At the beginning of the show, they switched around. 1 girl to the mens team, 1 man to the womens team.

The guy got booted.

j123vt_99 09-30-04 10:12 AM

who choose? based on what?

They both volunteered. The funny thing is, the girls' team won the first task so the guy, being the PM for that task had immunity the following week in case they lost--which they did--and he gave up said immunity. The Donald found it stupid and fired him.

tofu 09-30-04 10:24 AM

I think the Donaold needs to just mix up the teams again because the girls' team is just too catty right now. It's amazing how opposite this season's is to last season's in terms of how well the guys and gals' teams work together.

mphtrilogy 09-30-04 10:26 AM

There are so many weak players, this show is gonna stink until we weed out the dead wood. It may take a good month+

Although even The Donald said, this one was easy, they all should be easy for awhile...

Who screened these applicants, they are awful.

Groucho 09-30-04 10:34 AM

The "Bird Behind the Back" looked incredibly staged to me.

Anybody know if Saturday's "Encore" includes an extended boardroom?

CPA-ESQ. 09-30-04 11:00 AM

Well Elizabeth is my girl... There is something about her that I love!

http://nbc.com/nbc/The_Apprentice_2/.../elizabeth.jpg

Achtung 09-30-04 11:20 AM

The girls are crashing and burning, and at the same time its sad and funny. Everytime they lose, the infighting just gets worse. The guys look like they are just having a good time in general, and like they've come together more as a group.

I do like Elizabeth (the only hot one, IMO), but I couldn't believe her crying. I wonder how some of these people ever made the cut.

Jergen 09-30-04 11:34 AM

I like how the girl who did the decor stabbed the team leader right in front of her face. Even then, the team leader didn't have the smarts to take the decor girl into the boardroom.

I can't recall Carolyn attacking anyone but a woman - even last year. She seems to like to tear into other women but I don't see her being as aggressive with the men. Anyway, my two cents is this show is boring and random. Yes, the PM desired to be fired but the Donald just got rid of all the "villians" so far.

Fok 09-30-04 11:45 AM

I can't see any of the women winning it in the end, last season's women were a lot more stronger. It was funny seeing Bill, looked like a little boy following his parents around.

Dabaomb 09-30-04 08:36 PM

ahhhh, I forgot that they moved this from Thursday to Wednesday. Stupid presidential elections.

Oh well, I'll just watch the encore on Saturday.

Jadzia 09-30-04 09:01 PM

I cracked up when they showed Stacy packing her suitcase and she had a pack of birth control pills in her hand.

I agree she was unfairly targeted but I still think she is a little troll from last week.

Glad Jen C is gone. All those women are so catty. I'm not sure why she protected Sandy even after Sandy stabbed her in the back. That was a dumb move.

Although I thought the decor of the girl's restaurant was nice. I didn't get what the old ladies said about how they were surprised an Asian restaurant used red. Huh?

I am not sure how they were able to pul together a menu in that short time. Did they just leave it to the chefs? How did the girls know their assigned chef could cook Asian?

I think you mis-heard. They said they were surprised that an Asian restaurant had -bread-. Jen C. explained it as fusion.

My guess is that they were able to select from 3 or 4 different restaurant types (Italian, Asian, etc.) and the menus were preset in terms of what could/would be served. They basically just had to clean, decorate and then "work" the place.

The show should have given more background info. on the task. Budget, presets, etc.

Oh, ok, that makes a lot more sense. I guess I was confused since they were just talking about the decor and the decor used the color red.

I thought it was funny how Jen C. was pressing those ladies to critique the place: "What do you think of the decor?" but then she didn't like what they had to say.

Reminded me of my mom who is always fishing for compliments on the crap she buys at garage sales. "Don't you like my new necklace?" Um, no, I don't. Then she gets all miffed.

Meh. That takes time, and it's not really necessary. Last season they put the details up at the website for anybody interested. I'm not sure if they're doing it again this time, though.

mariakitty 10-01-04 01:25 PM

Stacey is irritating and I was hoping she should go, even though she really didn't do anything too terrible on this project.

I am finding the editing is giving away the losing team way too early in the episodes. When Trump gives his little pearl of wisdom each week fairly early in the episodes, it seems to target one of the teams. This week was about leadership and Trump tells us in 15 seconds what it takes to be a good leader. Cut to the ladies and their lack of leadership. Was it not obvious they were going to lose? It was the same last week. I also thought it was obvious the women would lose when very little of the men's team was even shown until they were serving up the "gay" table. We saw very little of the men setting up the restaurant as the show focused on the catty women.

I still love this show, but it's definitely weaker than last season. Trump will have no choice but to mix up the teams soon because the women's team is starting to really lack in numbers.

taa455 10-01-04 02:05 PM

Very true, maria. Last week Trump talked about staying under budget in his little lecture minute.
