Etheridge to star in ABC comedy
I have no desire to see this show, should it see the light of day.
Melissa Etheridge is laying down her guitar to star in an television sitcom, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The singer will head up an as-yet untitled ABC comedy about a gay woman (Etheridge) and a straight man who help raise the daughter of a mutual friend.
Etheridge will also serve as a producer on the project.
Her last album, "Lucky," was released in February.

I don't know how well she can carry an entire sitcom, but she did have a funny bit on "Ellen" when she gave her a free kitchen appliance (toaster?) for becoming gay.
