DirecTV question on add/delete packages

On Saturday, I added the Sports Pack in order to watch my Wisconsin Badgers play on one of the FSN. I wasn't able to delete it the same day, but did so this morning. This is the first time I've added something for a single event.

Which brings me to my question: How often can you do this? Do they "flag" you if it happens often?

That's a good question. I don't think they do. It seems I have seen at http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb....php?forumid=7 that people do this all the time with HBO and Showtime etc. so I don't see how this would be any different.

I just did it over the weekend to add Starz. First time I ever tried it so I am not sure if they do flag it.

It was. That is why I added it. The wife liked what they were showing so I figured for another 11 bucks a month I just added it.

I guess what I was referring to was adding a package, watching one show/movie/game, then deleting the package immediately after.

I once wrote to directv about this, it was probably about a year or so ago. I can't find the email, but they said you can add/remove packages whenever you want. I do have a feeling they keep an eye on it if you do it all the time, but not sure what they can do about it.

I've only done it a few times.

Some folks do it very frequently. But I'm sure if the everyone started doing it, they'd put an end to it.

If you are paying for the DirecTV HD package you can delete it and then add it back to get 6 months free. I did it about a month ago and it didn't cause any problems.
