Not true.

First of all, Steel helped her out of the tunnel.

Second of all, she was a part of the second line of defense after the first line [including Supes] got their asses kicked all over outer space.

Now, if you wanted to ask what happened to her once she hit the water, well...then you'd have a question.

Jack, that pic of Hal GL And Kyle were taken after Hal already went nuts and became Parallax? Geez, I hated that whole storyline- one of the main reasons I stopped collecting DC comics.
Yeah, I know. But the whole point is you said never and well.. there has been moments where two Green Laterns have been around at the same time. Both 10 year from the past Hal and Kyle were Green Laterns of earth at the same time for those six issues even though one was of earth 10 years in the past and the other was the present day one. Besides, someone already pointed out that Stewart and Kyle are currently GL's

In the JL comics they mention the Martian Manhunter as the most powerful being on earth. But on the show they powered him waaaay down.

Don't worry, I think there are plenty of us out here who have no idea who these characters are.

Yeah, but those who do get a slightly better experience when they recognize some obscure character on the screen ("Whoa, they have _____!" versus my reaction ("Whose that guy in the red )

so was the guy in red ("the tornado", i guess) killed? it looked to me like he was a robot or something... so I guess he could be repaired.

What an awesome episode. If they could replicate this quality on a regular basis, it'd slowly work it's way up the list of great superhero cartoon shows.

One question. I thought Superman could go into outerspace without a problem. Maybe I am wrong on that, but I never remember seeing him wear a space suit before.

I said Kyle and another GL. I haven't followed lately, but making Hal go crazy and then having him become The Spectre was one of the worst decisions in DC history. That and killing off Barry Allen/Flash.

Fate is higher up in the pantheon of heroes because he's "god powered". Captain Marvel also is in this class. Supes and the others have no defense against magic.

I always thought Supes was physically the strongest, then MM, Lobo (immortal because Heaven and Hell don't want him), Valor, Orion, and a few others.

The DCU is a strange place because there are so many gods, goddesses and various magic users. It's hard to gauge just who is top dog. Then there's the Vertigo line which sometimes intersects with the normal DCU (Swamp Thing, Animal Man. John Constantine, Phantom Stranger, Death, etc).

two reasons. Sells more toys and because from my understanding, superman is able to go into space because he can hold his breath for a long time. He would put on his suit to communicate in space with others and for long space missions. Could be wrong, but thats what I recall it being.

Taking hal off as GL was silly and was during the whole phase of re creating superheros with fresh new edgy looks. That is why kyle had a NIN shirt when they first made him a Lantern. But since then Kyle has been shit on so many times I'm sure he will never go into sears to buy a new kitchen appliance for the rest of his life. Rebirth will kick off next month and we will get Hal as GL again.

I guess I just didn't notice her on the second line of defense. I was looking for her though.

Well you might as well get started on catching up on all the years of DC so you can get the full experience.

I'm lovin' it.

After all the descriptions of these gods, godesses, and magicians, not to mention various versions of heroes and retellings of stories, it sounds too complicated Plus, i always enjoyed the Marvel heroes better, so if i were to ever get back into comics i'd probably start there (although the 'Ultimate' retelling thing turns me off there too *sigh*)

Supes doesn't even need the spacesuit. In the early issues of the Frank Miller run he was wearing just an oxygen mask.

The suit is a holdout from the older Silver age run where he lost his powers. He would also wear a suit to deal with Kryptonite.

good post. I love the DC Universe.

What JLU should do in a few eps is have stories where the heroes are matched due to abilities. They could do an all magic ep featuring only Magic based JL folks or all Non-superpowered ep.

Someone didn't see "This Little Piggy"

In any case, here is some HUUUUUGE freak'n news that got me happy as all hell:

Morena Baccarin, who plays Inara Serra in the Firefly television series and upcoming Serenity movie, is providing the voice of Black Canary in Cartoon Network's Justice League Unlimited.

Black Canary will be featured in the Season 4 episode, "Double Date," which is written by Gail Simone. The episode also features Kin Shriner as Green Arrow, Amy Acker as The Huntress and Jeffrey Combs as The Question, along with some other guest voices to be announced.

Baccarin is one of several Firefly/Serenity cast members to lend their voices to Justice League Unlimited.

As previously reported, Nathan Fillion is voicing Vigilante and Gina Torres is voicing Vixen. Adam Baldwin is voicing a villain in the season finale.

"We're so lucky to get these people. And they're so happy to come and play," Justice League voice director Andrea Romano told The Continuum. "And when they work their schedules out so we can get them in the room at the same time, we also get a better product and they have a better time."

In other Justice League Unlimited news:

* Mindy Sterling is providing a guest-voice in an upcoming episode. Sterling is perhaps best known as Frau Farbissina from the Austin Powers movies.

Melissa Joan Hart will reprise her voice roles of Dee Dee for an upcoming episode of Cartoon Network's Justice League Unlimited.

Hart last voiced the roles for the Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker movie.

Best known for her role on Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, Hart also did the voice of Saturn Girl in Superman: The Animated Series. Hart also provided two voice roles for Sabrina, The Animated Series.

Batman Beyond and Static will both be guest-starring in "The Once and Future Thing, Pt. 2," the season finale of Justice League Unlimited.

Will Friedle is reprising his role of Batman for the episode.

I'm exicted!

I mnissed Piggy as well. CN reruns stuff forever anyways.

JLU is clearly skewed towards older DCU fans. Maybe this will get them to issue boxed sets? I'd love to watch this with a nice anamorphic transfer.
