The Batman (Animated Series) 9/18

Another pretty decent episode introducing the Penguin. Voicing reminded me of Devito in Batman Returns.

I'm getting used to the blending of animation styles. Not as over the top as Teen Titans. And I can see that since this is a younger Batman, where his voice is grisled enough to hear the BTAS Conroy Batman's voice emerge. I mean he's younger so he sounds younger, where Conroy is a seasoned and older Batman.

The rogues gallery is shaping up to be darker and deadlier.

Replays are on Fridays for those who miss it.

Missed the first episode but this one was good. I am not yet into this as much as say the JL Unlimited, but it's Batman and the show will eventually win me over.

This was a good ep and although I HATE THE MONSTER VERSION OF PENGUIN inspired by Batman Returns, I liked this compromise version. He was kinda freaky but still human.

The show reminds me of the work ENGLEHART & ROGERS did on Batman in the late 70's early 80's. The villians were more deadly and the art work shows a little of Roger's in it.

It was not a series, they worked on the Batman comic book in the late 70's and early 80's. One of the best teams to ever do Batman.

Link to some artwork from Marshall Rogers:

You would have to read the several of the comics and look at the art to understand what I am saying. All I am saying is that it reminds me of the new Batman series with the artwork and the villians have more of an edge to them.

I just caught the first episode over the weekend, I kind of liked the animation. I'm looking forward to this more than I am JLU.

Just OK. I guess my expectations are just far, far too high.

I didn't like the design of Penguin at all. Nor did I like his voice.
Pengy cackling like a crazed rooster during the fight scenes was like driving a spike into my brain.

Did like the design of Cobblepot Manor.
The Asian Doll fighters were interesting.

Overall I give this episode a 'D+'.
