Actually, according to TVTome, the 30th season will start on October 2nd, with Ben Affleck hosting and Nelly as the musical guest. I see they did a 'Best of Jon Lovitz' last week; I'm sorry I missed that. I hope that means it'll be out on DVD soon.

I'm there for Ben Affleck. His episode was one of the best shows of last season, if not for the Gigli skit and the cameo by Kelly Ripa.
I'd also like to see the episode with Jude Law on it.
Now Queen Latifah, I don't think so.

I saw the Best of Cheri Oteri and looked at the next one (on the episode list) which was the QL ep. Sorry about that.

Well, shit. Latifah was a terrible host when she was on about a year and a half ago.
I gave Affleck's show a when he hosted last March, but I still think he should tone down the phony Fallon-laugh while performing. Yes Ben, you're poking fun at yourself, we get it!
Two hosts announced and they're both repeaters from recent seasons. Can't SNL find anyone new in all of Hollywood to host? Please, please, please, no Jack Black this season.
This season will be the beginning of the Fred Armisen legend!

I wonder how good Dave Chappelle would be as a host. I guess since he has his own sketch comedy show he might not want to. On cable he can definitely get away with more raunchy and politically incorrect stuff. I've seen a lot of comedians go on SNL (like Bernie Mac) and not be nearly as funny as I was expecting. Snoop Dogg as host was funnier than Bernie. Maybe it's b/c they're having to collaborate with the SNL staff and not able to do as much of what they really want to do. Who knows. I still think Chappelle would be a great host.
Have they decided yet who's replacing Jimmy on WU? I haven't heard anything. I think Seth Myers would be my first choice.

SNL imo doesn't have writers in the same leauge as chappelle and his team (neil, etc)

I want to see Janet Jackson as the new host (sucks)
Why can't they bring back some of the old school guys like Dana Carvey or Mike Myers to host?
They don't book movie stars as hosts like they use to.
Steve Martin, Jim Carey, and Tom Hanks? When was the last ime they hosted?
Now they mostly hire stars from NBC programs or lame politicians like Al Gore and John McCain to do the shows.

Too bad they dropped the Scissor Sisters as the musical guest, but
I'm not too surprised, considering Queen Latifah has a new CD out.

host and music?
ugh
can't they at least have one of those positions be filled with someone who doesn't suck?
I hate when the musical guest is also the host

Jimmy Fallon Threat Level is Red
God, how I hate fallon. I'm sure he will screw up all his lines again. I've been asking around work how many takes each shot took for TAXI considering Fallon can not deliver a single line without laughing at himself.
