Father of the Pride 9/14
Anyone watch this last night?
*crickets chirping*
Anyone?
*tumbleweeds*
Is it too late for NBC to dump all the animal characters and just focus on S&R?

I'm afraid to admit this, but S&R are the funniest part of the show. Maybe that's not really saying much.
As long as they play just one more episode, I'm happy.

I actually thought last night's was really funny, and I hated this show the first week. I think it's because a friend of mine who never had heard of it said "it's kinda like a big-budget South Park."
I enjoyed last night's - it had some funny parts, though I personally hate the S&R portions.

S&R are the unfunny parts... the lion family cracks me up ...
"push me faster.. i want to go back in time"
this may be one of my favorite new shows... too bad it will be off the air in a month

I can't believe how many people like the animals and hate S&R, and vice versa.
I would imagine that haivng half of your limited audience hating one part of your show does not bode well for your future.

I gave this show a shot and watched the first two episodes and...I just don't find it all that funny.
That being said, I probably will tune in next week just to see

I know they played it to death in the commercials but I still found the "No, my parents were the worst" line hilarious. But that was it. I'll maybe watch the show in between commercials of other stuff.

I'm going to take a bit of a risk here and say that Donkey being on the show next week doesn't need to be spoilered. If anything it will be the only reason I would watch. I skipped it this week after watching the first two. Besides, I'm sure they are going to promote the hell out of it.

"Let us just get a Slurpee."
"I do not want to 'slurp', I want to 'gulp'!"
S&R are the only reason to watch this.
But the animal segments are getting better.

Checked it out last night for the first time. It was great. Can't wait for next week.

I figured it was common knowledge, but better safe than sorry.

What may be common knowledge to you won't be to others. There's plenty of people who go out of their way to avoid spoilers and whatever is in the preview for next week should be treated as one.

From the A Guide to Spoilers & Tags: How-To, Don't Put Spoilers in Thread Titles, Tag Teasers_Pages:
PROMO SPOILERS:
If you're going to discuss official information about an upcoming episode (ie. stuff shown in the "next week on..." segment, or print/broadcast advertisement/teasers) please make sure that you either use spoiler tags or start a thread with some kind of warning in the thread title
Or, as BizRodian suggested elsewhere, you could start a thread about "next weeks show (spoilers)" and discuss the teaser in there. But the threads discussing the current show need to spoiler the teaser information.
It's fine to discuss this stuff, but let's give everyone the choice to decide whether they want to see it or not.

does a public knowledge appearance need a spoiler though? NBC is showing commericals with donkey that he will be on Father of the Pride.. Would we need spoilers to show that David Letterman is having a particular guest on?

Look, it's really quite simple: Several people go OUT OF THEIR WAY to avoid spoilers! Maybe not for this show, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Besides, is it that hard to swipe the word:
Also, keep in mind that a lot of people in this forum have DVR's and don't watch commericials and promos.
Bottom line: it's all about Respect for your fellow members. This thread is for discussion of the 9/14 show, not the 9/21 show.

I understand that we shouldn't discuss plot-points that we see in a preview for next week's episode, but how is knowing that Donkey will be on the show a spoiler?

Compared to last week's, this week's was hilarious IMO. The problem this show seems to be having is that it doesn't know whether to play to kids or adults.

Look, the rule is easy to follow: if you are discussing something about an episode that hasn't air yet, put it in tags. Simple! (Oops, Chew beat me to it)
