Sci Fi announce October schedule; full airtimes for The Peacekeeper Wars
by Dani Moure - Monday, August 23rd 2004
Category: The Peacekeeper Wars
Sci Fi have released their October schedules, which includes the premiere of the upcoming mini-series, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.
As previously mentioned, Sci Fi will get ready for the premiere of the mini-series by running all 88 episodes of Farscape (in order, from the beginning), weekdays from 8am to 4pm beginning Friday, October 1, running through Friday, October 15.
Then on Sunday, October 17 at 9pm on Sci Fi it all begins, with the airing of Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars - Part 1, which will air in letterbox widescreen, as the fourth season did on Sci Fi. The first part of the mini-series will run again at 11pm at 1am that same day (6 hours of Farscape!).
On Monday, October 18 at 9pm on Sci Fi it's the premiere of Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars - Part 2, the conclusion to the mini-series. Prior to its airing, the first part of the mini-series will have an encore presentation at 7pm. Like the first part, Part 2 will be rerun at 11pm and 1am. There will also be an encore presentation of Part 2 at 7pm on Tuesday, October 19.
The entire mini-series will then be rerun on Sunday, October 24 from 3pm.

From: WAS looking for My Own Private Stuckeyville, but stuck in Liberty City (while missing Vice City)

I was going to start a thread about this, but decided to hold off [the miniseries, not the trailer]. But DAMN that looks f'n* cool. Just got the season three boxset today.
Man do I miss this show.
Here's some interviews that TVGuide.com did with Ben & Claudia...

* now that i'm calmer, I edited the original adrenaline fueled profanity.

I, too, will be lifting the Sci-fi blockade, but only for the month of October. I'll be signing up for cable for the month, and make it perfectly clear to Comcast what my reasons are. (Hell, I don't know if they even care, but a few well-placed words can't hurt).
I can't wait. I'm re-running my encore presentation of the entire series before then (I'm on Season 2, disc 2 now). I forgot just how much I loved this show. B5...and Farscape, my two great sci-fi loves.
I'm glad Apple decided to host the trailer. For those of you that want to support Farscape, drop Apple a note and let them know you're glad they hosted it with all the "movie" trailers (this is a first, as far as I know).

From today's Digital Bits:
Finally this morning, I wanted to mention this because I know a lot of you are really looking forward to it. I had the chance to see the forthcoming Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars this past weekend. The 2-part mini-series debuts on the Sci-Fi Channel on Sunday, October 17th (click here to view the trailer and more). Trust me when I say that if you're a fan of Farscape, you're going to absolutely love it. The mini-series wraps up most of the loose ends from the series, including the finale's brutal cliff-hanger ending, and gives each major character, relationship and story arc (and even many minor ones) a satisfying resolution. It also marks a potential new beginning for the character of John Crichton (if the mini-series does well, the folks at Henson say there's the potential for more adventures to follow). The scale is bigger and grander than ever before, and the effects work is spectacular. Most importantly, the characters are all back just as you know and love them. Each is given due attention and an important part to play in the story. I'll tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed all 200+ minutes of Peacekeeper Wars and I can't wait for the eventual DVD release. You can read a more in-depth review of the mini-series over at Genre Online.

I've never seen this show, and the DVD sets are too expensive. Does anyone know where to get a good deal on them? How many seasons were there?

I've never watched it either and have balked at the price of the DVDs.
However... In the last two Diamond Previews (comic book industry's monthly trade catalog) there have been "Farscape Starburst Edition" DVDs advertised. About 350 minutes, for $25.
Which would be the equivalent of eight episodes.
The only thing is, nobody knows just what is on the DVDs... if these are some kind of "Best of" sets, or if they're re-releasing the entire series. I'm hoping the entire series is being reissued at a lower price so I can justify the purchase.
