Celebrity Poker Showdown, 8/5

Tonight at 9 on BRAVO.

Tonight's table features:

Hank Azaria
Seth Meyers
Gail O'Grady
Amy Poehler
Jeffrey Ross

They're really stretching the definition of 'celebrity' with this table. I would only term of these people celebrities: Azaria and O'Grady. I barely know Amy Poehler. I would have had no idea who the other 2 were without their bios on the BRAVO site.

I've been hooked on this show the past couple of weeks. David Cross kills me.

I agree that they bring in B- and C-listers, but it should be an enjoyable show tonight. Azaria and Poeler are both funny and Ross is one of the best comedians out there today, IMO.

I don't know ... I'd consider all of these guys celebrities. Seth Meyers is the only one of the group who isn't really established, but he's been on SNL for, what, 3 years now? I don't see any of the other 4 being more important than the others.

Here's a challenge: find a documentary on any famous comedian (made within the last 10-15 years of course) that doesn't contain interview footage with Ross. That guy is in everything.

Amy Poehler has been on tv and in movies for like 6+ years, she's been on SNL for about 3 years, which is a network show, so I'd consider her a celebrity.

Indeed. Mighty fine actress too. She seems to be ideal in the role of a 1960s MILF.

IMO, Jeff Ross is so annoying. Amy Poehler was hilarious. When she tricked Gail OGrady into thinking that she had dated Phil.

That had to be a relatively fast game since they were only at 400-800 blinds at the end. Usually at the end they are at 3000-5000 blinds.

Oh, Gail.

that was hilarious.

Phil: "She's really committed to that bluff!"

Gail: "I thought I had a straight!"

That poor tournament director, he had some classic lines against Jeff last night...

Robert (to Jeff): "Basically [Seth] said you're an a--hole."

I've gotta watch that again.

Robert was bringing the funny all night long.

Oh Gail, why did you have to go out so early? She didn't seem to have much of a sense of humor, though.

Ross was hilarious. Poehler is simply *beeping* *beeping* *beeping* *beeping* *beeping* *beeping* *beeping* *beeping* *beeping* *beeping* awesome.
