Ok, so now why again is John Melendez on Leno?

He almost never does anything a trained chimp couldn't. And when he does do something, he essentially comes off as a buffoonish retard.

So what again was supposed to be the reason Melendez got that job? I missed the beginning of that story.
Was it that the Tonight Show producers were afraid that Leno wasn't appealing to a young enough demographic and that what the show really needed was this idiot?!?

Shirley that can't be it.

Has Leno ever had an original idea since he took over for Carson?

Is this a rhetorical question? I think that pretty much summed it up. "We'll get all the Stern fans!"

Leno or Melendez? It seems to apply to either.

The other morning on Stern, they had some comedian in saying that John looks like he's had the soul sucked out of him and that he looked dead inside.

I don't watch Leno very often but watching John do anything on that show is just painful and I used to love John on Stern.

I only watch Leno for a few minutes on Mondays for the Headlines, so I haven't seen what they've done to John. What kind of bits has he done? Anything similar to what he was doing on Stern, or is that a silly question?

Melendez is a horrible announcer for the show.

The things was that Stuttering John on the Stern show wasn't particularly funny or talented. He just did his job and got "in trouble" enough with other staff memebers to be entertaining.

To be fair it's not like Edd Hall was ever the life of the Tonight Show party either.

They all can't be Alan Kalter or Joel Godard

But Edd Hall at least had an announcer voice.

I don't think Melendez is funny and he basically doesn't bring anything new to the show.

Exactly. He was like the one kid who'll eat snot or glue on a dare.

The funny thing about Stuttering John on Stern was him throwing people under the bus with embarassing stories, and Fred impersonating him.

One things for sure, John does a lot more on the show than Edd did. You could go a couple months between Edd sightings.

John may be working with the writers to develop material too. There are lots of people working behind the scenes.

Well, yeah, but Edd Hall was actually an announcer! He had a voice. And they are bring John in to make him an active part of the show and have him do...whatever it is that he does.

Which lately has been nothing. Not to say that's a bad thing, because the bits I have seen John in have just been awful.

You ever see one of those captured soldier videos where they are forced on camera to denounce their country? That's what watching John reminds me of. He looks terrified, like he is being forced to perform in the bit.

Clearly this whole John Melendez experiment was a complete failure. They should cut their losses sooner rather then later and replace him. (with just about anybody)
