If I remember correctly, 1.5's car was actually in front. If the models are behind them, what exactly are they supposed to do when the team in front of them misses a turn. Try to catch up and let them know. I wouldn't do that and I do not think anyone else would either. 1.5 just do not pay attention very well. They are always getting lost and having to ask directions. That is the last team I would want to be tied to in this race.

Plus, it seems 1.5 think an alliance means that you have to walk hand-in-hand all of the time. They would probably get pissed if the team they had an alliance with didn't go to the bathroom with them.

I felt stupid trying to explain the FF to my girlfriend last night in anticipation of Jim and Marsha getting it, but then no dice. Odd. Also, what a great ending segment. How could you not love everything about this show? Granted Nicole and Christie are hard to tell apart, but at least they're really hot.

(Great web coverage again this year, BTW)

I was wondering how much faster the paragliding really was compared to the biking. a 6 km trail all downhill could probably be traversed in 20 minutes or so. I'm sure it took at least 10 minutes just to put on all that safety equipment. I used to live under a mountain where there were gliders all the time, and while they can do a rapid descent by spinning really fast, on hot days, they can be up there for hours, and our mountain was only 800 M high.

a few random observations:
Argh, I really liked the Dad/Daughter team. They were not annoying at all and they seemed like regular people. Atleast they went out with class but it still sucks that the airport is what did them in.
As for the Mirna/Charla thing, they annoy me more and more each episode. I really hope they get they get eliminated soon. For the record, the regular sized one (and the little one for that matter) are definitely NOT hot. They both have voices that make me want to gouge my eardrums out with a pen "CHARLA" annoying as hell.
The jesus freaks are starting to annoy me a bit too, just in the sense that everything they accomplish they have to throw out a "hallelujah!"
Part of me was really hoping that one of the teams (preferably midget and cousin) would get eliminated because they didn't know how to drive a manual transmission (atleast it looked like those big jeep things was manuals).
I'm thinking Colin and Christie will have to become my new team of choice though I don't really know. as for people liking the twins, i think they're only so so looking and they defintely prove that the addage about blondes is true

Team 1.5 just kills me by having to hear their whiny voice so much.

I like the twin team because their dumb, they dont look they just hurry.

I think the only hot one left is either the creepy old man or the girl jesus model. Probably the later.

I think the twins should have had a time penalty for the placement of their arms when they were with Phil.

I'm still rooting for Mirna and Charla. I don't see anything wrong with what they did with the doctor thing to get a ticket. And while not what I'd call "hot", I don't see anything wrong with the way Mirna looks, I think she's attractive.

One of the things that really bug me about Team 1.5 is that Charla has repeated in every episode so far that because she is little, it makes people want to help her - and she uses that to her advantage. (Okay, we get the point!)

The name Charla must only exist in the reality TV realm, because I don't think I've ever heard the name before Paradise Hotel.

My wife and I also laughed at the Mirna and Schmirna comment.

I don't care about team midget, I just want either one of the two team whales to lose. I hate them so much, it's not even funny. I'm hoping they'll fracture a leg or something due to their overwhelming weight.

LOL, perv, this ain't a wet t-shirt contest. Although, I was hoping the twin in white wouldn't block the view.

Yes I have to admit the twins were looking worthy after the swim.

Sounds like I'm in the minority but I like the Jesus Freaks. They seem like nice people, friendly, don't get upset with each other. Plus they have been very competitive so far. One exception was when Brandon wanted to walk to the ferry instead of taking the taxi, claiming God would help them. That was stupid, but I think that is really the only stupid thing they have done. Who cares if they throw out "thank you lord" a few times? That's not a reason to hate them, imo.

Well I'm a Christian and these 2 give Christians a bad name. There have been at least 2 instances where they said they would support another team, but when the time came to help them out (even after the first team waited for them to get out of the mud), they only worried about themselves. That is NOT Christ like behavior and if I could talk with them, I'd make sure they got the message loud and clear. They are an embarrassment!

I don't see what is so wrong with Charla's doctor thing. Everybody always pulls the "emergency!" card. IMO, this isn't much different from that.

One would think these idiots would have enough sense to know that medico is Spanish for doctor; not doctoro.

After seeing Charla try and get directions to the airport by saying "airporto" and then mimicking a plane, I'd have to say that no, they don't have enuf sense

If you look at their bio on the official amazing race site, it says they aren't US-born and can speak 4 different languages, Spanish being one of them. I don't really see much accurate spanish being spoken by them though.

Please list those 2 instances, I do not remember them.

I assume one of them is on the latest episode when 1.5 claims that they left them, but if you watch the show, 1.5's car was ahead of them. There is not really much you can do when the car ahead of you misses the turn.

I don't know if they flashed their lights at them, but if it were me, I would race to catch up to them and then set them straight.

The 2nd instance was later in the program, but I cannot remember which other team it was that said that they went back on their word.

I think that most people would consider this going above and beyond a normal alliance. I wouldn't consider an alliance dragging another team all over the race and correcting all of their mistakes. Yes, it was nice of 1.5 to wait for them, but I do not think the models, or any other team in the same situation, would have held it against them if they had not stopped.

An alliance is to help each other when it does not cost you much time, it doesn't mean that you blow your whole race because of someone else's misfortune or mistake.

They couldn't have been that far ahead, because Team Jesus SEES them going straight instead of turning. Given that 1.5's waited probably 10 or more minutes for TJ to get out of the mud, I don't see it as being unreasonable for them to spend the same 10 minutes catching up to 1.5s and telling them they are going the wrong way.

The 2nd occurance was with the brothers. The brothers were following them, but they look in their rear view mirror and see they've falled too far behind and are out of sight. Instead of waiting for them to catch up, he says just forget about them and go.

They didn't ask 1.5 to hang around, so really there is no need to make up for that one. If 1.5 chose to wait around hoping to get a favor later, then that's on them.

I didn't know the models had an alliance with the brothers.

What about when team1.5 held their place in line at the airport and team models asked them to buy tickets for them. Then the models try and get team major dad to also get them tickets. When Mirna asks the girl if team major dad was buying tickets for them, she lied and said no.

Who knows exactly what was said in between. Remember that only an hour of material is shown and they are always going to edit it for television and leave the parts in which seem controversial.

Who's to say what "deals" were actually made between teams? Maybe it was a misunderstanding or selective editing. Who's to say you or I wouldn't have done the same thing? Alliances in this game are for the most part useless and typically slow you down. Some would say Brandon and Nicole are playing the game shrewdly. Bottom line, this is race. It's very noble and fine to help other teams when you can, but you ultimately have to do what is best for yourself and improving your position in the race. If the other teams don't understand this, they are naive and petty. IMHO.
