When a character is only about being gay, it's redundant, pointless and ignorant.

What's further annoying is that when gay characters are written, they often fit many of the cliches and stereotypes - "The Flamboyant One", "The Homophobe Who Turns Out To Be Gay", "The Class Stud That Everybody Looks Up Who Reveals He's Gay", et al.

It would be cool if they could follow Rupert Everett's idea for a ruthless gay James Bond character who would basically use sex whenever necessary to accomplish the mission - a guy who'd sleep with a man or woman in order to attain the goal.

WTF?
who gives a shit what sexual preference the characters of a show like Alias have. I don't watch shows like that for the characters relationships

Does EVERY gay/lesbian person flaunt it? Or even want to? No! Therefore, a character may very well be gay/lesbian on the show & we just don't know about it! BTW, the series is not over yet, so it's impossible to say that there are no gay/lesbian characters on the show!

Felicity was about relationships in a college setting. Alias is about...jennifer Garner whooping spy ass. Who cares what orientation the characters are. They could be into beastiality for all I care, that's not what the show is about. To highlight their sexual preference would be silly, diverting, and pointless. Felicity dealt with relationships so orientation had something to do with the show.

I'm sure they would miss you.
