X-Men cartoon returns to Fox Family this weekend

As part of the "Jetix" block, Fox is rerunning the old X-Men cartoons from the '90s beginning this weekend.

I think it will follow Spidey. Good new for all you mutie-lovers out there. :-)

Too bad they canceled X-Men: Evolution. That was a great source of mutant goodness.

That 90's X-Men cartoon was probably one of the best superhero cartoons ever. I miss it.

I'll second that. In my opinion, it was the BEST superhero cartoon series EVER. I've watched a lot of superhero toons over the decades and I really miss this one. This one is tons better than Evolution IMO.

It did go downhill a little right at the end if I remember right, but if they start it from the beginning, it should be a fun ride.
Makes me wish I had a good way to get shows from my D*TIVO to my PC to make a permanent DVD archive!

Spider-Man? Really? I liked the first couple season, but that show went bad, really fast as it got older. (Just my opinion, though).

Batman: TAS > X-Men > Superman > Justice League (I would say in time it would rise higher, but I'm still not sold on the rotating crew for the upcoming season...but S2 was damn good)

I just loved the long story arcs and how they handled guest stars... they had what... like the Sins of the Father arc that must have ran 10+ episodes. But anyway... out of curiosity, is there still a Fox Family Channel? It's ABC Family channel for me...

Yeah, there's no question Batman: TAS was the best. I'd say it's a toss up between X-Men and the 90's Spiderman for 2nd best. Not far behind are the 90's Superman cartoon and Justice League.

They cancelled it? I thought they were just on hiatus.

OK, I'll agree batman was good also, but better? I don't know for sure. There were some episodes of Batman I still remember for not liking.
Justice League is good, but my order would be:
X-Men > Batman > Justice League

It's sad when a super hero series loses out to Pokemon.

Cool, I liked the cartoon even though the episodes were severely watered down versions of the some of the best X-Men stories from the comics.

Just to nit-pick: ABC Family not FOX Family. Remember, Disney bought Saban/Fox Family. Fox Family does not exist and FoxKids does not own the X-Men or Spider-Man cartoon, Disney does now.

And the X-Men cartoon was about 100x better than the Spider-Man toon! But nothing touches BTAS, and I hate saying that because Timm and Dini already have big enough egos.

Oh! Me, Me! I wanna play!

Batman:TAS>Superman:TAS>Justice League (It would appear that I am a Timm whore...and thats probably true. JL would have been lower if not for the stellar season 2)>x-men>Spiderman>Spawn(For the record I really enjoy all of these series)............................................................................................. ....................>Iron Man/Hulk/Fantastic 4 cartoons from the mid 90's. OK, they weren't that bad.

I think Spiderman really had a chance to be the greatest superhero cartoon ever with all the multi-part eps, guest stars, and how they stayed so true to the comic stories but something just was off. I found the animation to be pretty painful at times and the music was pretty bad.
