Viva La Bam
 

I saw Viva La Bam - Fat Boy Face Off this morning. In it, as expected, they destroy other people's property. This time though one of the things they destroyed isn't really replacable. Usually they just destroy cars etc, or walls in the house. Things that can be replaced. I have always hoped that they pay to fix/replace what they destroyed. In this episode though, they completely destroyed something irreplacable (even though according to the "rules" of the game they shouldn't have - as if I expected them to follow the rules, but anyway).

Has anyone heard why his family keeps going along with this? Does he replace everything he trashes?

It's a t.v show, and the last season was highly scripted. Of course April's family plates weren't really destroyed. And of course MTV replaces everything that is destroyed.

I highly doubt they are destroying anything of value to anyone.

Ok that's good to know. Usually people only act upset, but she seemed REALLY pissed in this episode. Even after she checked what was left of it, so I got the impression that this time they had actually destroyed something they cared about.

I had no idea it was actually scripted. I figured it was set up (like Survivor, etc) but I didn't realize the family members followed scripts.

His show this season has an 8million dollar budget. So he can break lots of things.

I really don't like this show.

WildBoyz is much funnier.

Well, that really depends on which side of S&M you prefer.

I like how they give subtitles to everything that Uncle Vito says. I just cannot understand anything he says.

:thumbsup: Knoxville & Wee Man appear on Wild Boyz all the time, but I doubt if they ever guested on Viva La Bam. Plus I can't stand that guy Margera-he seems really into himself.

I think that's why I like the show, he's quite full of himself. Makes me laugh. Although I enojy it now, I doubt I'll continue enjoying it because there's only so long I can laugh at them destorying Vito's car.

The only funny one was Vegas, but even then the Russian wife seemed really fake. The show is way too staged.

But even so, it's funnier than other staged "reality" shows like Family Business.

I'm the complete opposite - Viva La Bam is one of the funniest things MTV has ever put on the air and WildBoys is complete shit, imo.

Community Disservice was great.

I could go on and on.

The only good thing about the show is Vito. God that man is hilarious.

Well, a lot of the first season of Jackass was all Bam's old clips from his CKY videos. He had some quality material to bring to the table, haven't seen his new show yet, though.

I saw Bam on some talk show and he explained that most of the first season of Jackass was just stuff that he had already taped with his buddies. MTV got Knoxville and the rest of those guys from LA to do their own bits and mixed it all into the one show. Bam seemed pretty bitter about Knoxville being more famous and getting all the credit for Jackass.

Knoxville was doing his own show/video reports for Big Brother magazine. The first season of Jackass was a mix of Big Brother, Steve-O own stuff CKY (anything w/ Bam or his friends was CKY) and a few new things. Knoxville and the producer (forget his name, the fat one) was the ones that were tryign to put a show together, and found Bam doing his videos and invited him to join them to make Jackass. The funniest stuff from the early JA shows was mostly CKY.

BRING BACK JACKASS

I stopped enjoying Viva LaBam when I found out that his parents also get paid for the show.

That sort of takes the surprise element out of things.

I liked it when Vito pulled off his toe nail. That was funny.

Exactly that's why Viva La Bam is so good. They were the best part of that entire show.

Of course they were in on it - that doesn't make it less funny.

Pulling Don Vito's toenail off, that was damn sick.

I guess I could understand why Bam would be a lil bitter, but w/out Knoxville he might not be where he is today.

actually I think Knoxville owes a lot to Bam... As some else said , a lot of Jackass was taken from Bam's CKY videos

Jackass was basically the guys from the CKY videos and a pretty-boy.

Bam came up with most of the stunt ideas. Knoxville did most of the, let's test the strength of this bullet proof vest.

Nobody takes pain like the WildBoyz do though, if you need an example see the "Coconut Crab" incident. I think the WildBoyz show is cooler b/c they get to travel to different countries and stuff.

It doesn't necessarily mean that they are in on it. MTV has to pay them for being on the show.

The Wildboyz are actually likeable and when I watch the show even though I know it's never gonna happen I still hope for them to never get seriously hurt.

As for Bam,Vito could run over this arrogant spoiled brat tomorrow with the next car they give him and cripple Bam for life and i'd just smile.

After the final episode of Viva La Bam they showed previews of whats to come next, but didnt give a date.

Is there any news on when MTV will air those episodes or when the new season starts?

Not sure if i like bam or don't like him... somehow i find his show entertaining even though there really isn't much substance in the show.. maybe i'm amazed at how he treats his parents and he has like the best parents on the planet.. his dad has to be one of the nicest people on earth even mother theresa is like g wiz.

or maybe it's the whacky cast of characters.. or maybe i'm baffled how he has so much money that he ruins cars and breaks things and spends all kind of money like it's nothing.. is he that rich?

new season coming up should i care.. i don't know.. it's like staring at the wall and not knowing why.

hah nice... yeah i don't know what to make of em.

sometimes i think he does that stuff to his parents for the show... in a sense he's copying tom green.. everyone knows tom green was doing that wayyy before bam remember when he put the porno star paint on their car? and he always messed with them.

Bam and his crew are pretty funny. Some stuff seems pretty staged but it is still fun to watch. Especially Don Vito. Get him hyped up and just try to understand him.

As for how he gets to trash cars and stuff, well MTV probably gives him a budget for each episode. Every car Bam has trashed sure didn't look like it was worth over a few thousand.

As for why his parents put up with the crap he pulls..they are 'cast members' of the show so they must be getting paid. Probably pretty good compared to whatever they normally do (it does seem that his parents still have normal jobs).

hmmm good points.. i guess it is more staged than i would of thought.

i don't know if they just put up with it because they are cast members though because back in the day on jackass they used to do it to his parents even worst and it seemed like tormenting his parents to me... they weren't really cast members then they just were being goofed on.

I watch occasionally, but agree that most of the show is staged, and Bam is an asshole.

I figure the real "Bam fans" are probably 8 years old skater boys who think he is cool for being such a jerk to his parents.

Yup go check out all the CKY vids from a couple years back. Before he had his show he would pull pranks on his parents, friends and he got it sometimes to.
