Well, the gf won out and we started Dead Like Me last night. We watched 2 eps (wow the pilot was long
), and we both love it already. Can't wait to watch more tonight.
I'll be starting up one of the others (24, B5, N/T) on my own today since she has no interest in any of those.

I'd watch Nip/Tuck since you could easily catch up to season 2 on tv, but I voted for Babylon 5 because it's one of the greatest shows ever made.

I think it depends..you have so many differnet shows up on that list.
Nip/Tuck is one of my favs now. But Sports Nights was when it was on and was a genuinely rich, funny and warm show. To me it would be a toss up between them.

Babylon 5. No doubt about it. I do urge you to be patient since it doesn't really kick in to high gear until the second season. (And the second season is nothing compared to the third season....one of the greatest seasons of any show ever).
The others that I've seen....
Space Ghost - I just rented the DVDs. I haven't watched them, yet, and I don't know what episodes are included. But the show itself is (or was...haven't cared as much for later episodes) different from anything else you'll see and usually pretty damn funny. I'm not sure if it's worth buying, but it's definitely worth watching. (I still think Aqua Teen Hunger Force is the best Adult Swim show and highly recommend the DVDs.)
Monk - A good old fashioned mystery show with some big laughs. Worth a rental, but not much replay value for me, especially since USA plays reruns all the time.
Alias - Tried it. Didn't like it. Not necessarily a bad show, but just not for me.
Sports Night - I got the first disc from Netflix last week. After watching three episodes, I removed the rest of the discs from my queue. I heard so many great things about it that I was really let down at first. It's well-written, with lots of clever dialogue, but it didn't have the big laughs that I was expecting. I decided to watch the rest of the episodes before sending the disc back. After knowing what to expect, I started to really enjoy it. The rest of the discs are back at the top of my queue, and I'm looking forward to getting them.
24 - A tough one. I enjoy the first two seasons, and it's still the most addictive show on TV right now. It's also the most frustrating. If you can deal with giant lapses in logic and the occassional asinine backstory that seems pointless and silly (just about anything involving Kim), it's worth watching. And the DVD sets are the perfect way to see them, rather than waiting a week for the next episode.

My answer's still Gilmore Girls. ABC family started showing reruns last week, so you can always try it without getting the dvds.
From the list, I'd definitely go with Nip/Tuck. Of course, I still haven't watched anymore of das's 2 favorite shows, so I'm not sure how much my vote counts.

I think the next step after DLM and 24 would have to be Alias.
I'm not as big of a fan of the show as a lot of people, but if you enjoyed those DLM/24, I would think Alias is the next logical step. Alias is really almost a strange blend of the action themes of 24 with the drama and fantasy elements of DLM.
