Xena question?

I am going to order one of the Xena DVD sets and was wondering if I started with Season 3 would it ruin anything. I have never really watched an entire episode and want to give it a chance, but was thinking it might be better to start with a later season do to the poor dvd quality of the early sets.

This isn't exactly the answer to your question, but I don't think Xena is a good blind buy. I mean, I liked the early seasons well enough, but the show really isn't that great, compared to others (IMO). It worked fine as a guilty pleasure syndicated show, but spending $60 per set if you're not already a fan? There are better blind buy TV season sets out there to spend your money on.

If you're set on buying it, you're probably better off Netflixing/renting/borrowing the first two seasons, so you can understand her relationships with characters like Hercules, Callisto, the Gods, etc. Joining the show in the third season might be kind of jarring.

I bought all 6 Xena seasons from R2 without really ever watching an entire episode and really enjoyed it.Highly Recommended.

Thanks guys for the info. They are pretty cheap now with the 20% off at deepdiscountdvd, like $33-$38 per set. That is why I thought I might risk a purchase of one season. Sounds like there might be limited replay value though. I bought Buffy blind and have not really gotten into it after a season and a half of viewing. Wish I would have held off on buying them.

On the other hand, I bought Farscape blind and love it.

Well, I love Buffy, Xena is tolerable in small doses, and Farscape just doesn't do it for me (and as Henson fan, I wish it would). So, I guess that's another vote against blind buying.
