Lost - pilot

Through the miracle of certain internet avenues, I got to see the pilot for "Lost", the upcoming new JJ Abrams show this fall.

I instantly thought it could have been called "Party of 48" because Matthew Fox is one of the leads of the show, and he occupies a primary spot for the pilot.

I was extremely enamored by Evangeline Lilly, who played Kate, a pretty strong-willed woman, and very easy on the eyes.

Anyhow, I liked the pilot and look forward to seeing the ongoing show in the fall.

I was wondering what Lost was, while apparently driving down a similar avenue tonight. Perhaps I'll give it a look.

I'm looking forward to this. Paul Dini is involved in writing for this as well.

I thought this was about that crappy reality show.

What's the concept behind this one?

Is this the show that's like Land of the Lost? Plane crashes--strange things happen-- want to get out. Then Gilligan comes by and breaks the professors coconuts.

"Lost centers on the aftermath of a plane crash on a desert island. In cast member Dominic Monaghan's words, "It's about survivors of a plane crash who manage to get themselves on a deserted island with a lot of freaky stuff going on, animals they've never seen before. It's how they survive in that situation." Just how freaky is the stuff that will be going on? While hiking, three crash survivors find the dead pilot hanging in a tree, a dog (which suddenly vanishes) and a child's shoe. Later on, they are attacked by a charging polar bear. In a tropical island. Right."

After reading the following reviews for this pilot (beware of spoilers):

I can't wait for September 22nd to watch this show. Also I hope that they can keep up with the quality of the show from the pilot for the rest of the season.

In the recent interview at aintitcool, it sounds like they might've changed the first 2 episodes a bit from the original pilot. So people who've seen the pilot might still want to tune in for those episodes.

I liked their working title better: "The Lord of the Rings: Crazy Island Adventure".

I heard they may have to tone down the pilot due to graphic injuries.

Perhaps it was the scene inspired from a sight gag in the Pod Race in "The Phantom Menace" where

Spoiler:
one guy gets sucked into a turbine

Yeah. THAT was awesome.

I just watched it and man it was very good, and I hope they can keep the quaility up too.

So far this is the Best New Show of the Season, to me. J.J. Abrams ROCKS!

JJ's killing me! I can't afford to get sucked into another show! The pilot was fantastic, and between this and Alias, I'm really looking forward to seeing what JJ can do with MI3 and his other show ABC has planned.

I've had this show and Hawaii on my HD for a while now. I'll get around to watching 'em sometime.

Is there really a polar bear? Is Jon Peters involved in this at all?

Yeah, let's just hope he doesn't abandon it like he did Alias.
