The Shield - 6/1

Oh man, what a great episode!

Did anyone catch Lem's last line of the episode - I couldn't hear it?

Charlie Goose 06-01-04 11:22 PM

He said something like, "We might fool Dutch and the feds, but we won't fool the Armenians."
Lem is the question mark here. He's feeling incredible guilt at what happened to O'Brien, he's terrified of getting the same treatment from the Armenians, or going to jail. He looked like he might cry on the scene.

MrX 06-01-04 11:32 PM

Looks like we're in for a great last couple of episodes with the shit starting to hit the fan.

Tavon's awake and he remembers just about everything, Dutch and the Armenians are on to the the strike team, and Vic's family is a mess.

Good to see the decoy squad again tonight.

Atleast they won't have to worry about walking in on Diego anymore:)

Buck Turgidson 06-01-04 11:33 PM

Dutch: "Jesus...are you sure it wasn't just an irate maid?" rotfl

It's all coming to a head.

This show is in a dead heat with The Wire for Best on American TV honors.

Everytime one of Vics family scenes comes on it makes me glad I got a vasectomy. I mean could it get worse?

We are all glad you got a vasectomy too.

Enjoyed Dog Girl's appearance.

For some reason, this episode didn't really do much for me. Maybe I'm getting a little tired of the "tight rope" that Vic is constantly walking to keep things afloat and not exploding in his face. I don't know how people function with so many angles to deal with in their life.

Red Dog 06-02-04 08:24 AM

Yep - the conspiracy btwn the strike team is beginning to fall apart. Happens so often when a group of people steals money. Of course, there is so much other crap contributing to the mess.

Meatpants 06-02-04 08:58 AM

Every episode, I'm left wondering when / if Vic ever goes to sleep.

Does anyone remember exactly how much money they got from the money train?

Agreed.

I really liked how they wondered if they'd see their arrest coming when they finally got caught. There are just so many loose ends out there. Hopefully the writers realize that they have to give us a pay off on all this.

It's exhausting to watch this show at times, due to the minefield aspect of the predicament the Strike Team finds themselves in.

I guess the moral of the story is: Crime doesn't pay!!! :D

Well maybe if he wasn't banging the K-9 trainer in his little bit of free time, he could catch some Z's. ;) Let's be real - except for his autistic kids, it is self-induced stress.

DJ_Spyder 06-02-04 10:09 AM

I'm glad to see that Tavon was shown even better to see that he remembers what happened betwen him and Shane. I totally agree Lem is becoming a big question mark it only a matter of time before he loses his nerve and spills the beans regarding the Strike Teams activities since the Aremenian mob is coming closer to the truth does anyone care to lay odds that Lem will get killed like Terry did in the first season? As for the relationship between Vic and the Dog Trainer it appears to be going nowhere since DT's boyfriend seems to be getting in the way coming up with these outrageous lies to keep her with him. And one more headache for Vic his family so far he is trying his best to keep his family together but one thing pops up right after the other and it came as no suprise to me that his wife wanted his son instutionalized since she has a very hard time coping with problems at home.

I almost laughed out loud when Vic came home with the groceries and started talking about roasting potatoes for dinner. How does he have time to make home-cooked meals?

Lem is a woman. I really hope he goes the way of Terry. I've never liked his character except for the one arc where he got with the Latin woman and picked fights with entire gangs. I see an end in his near future.

Goldblum 06-02-04 11:23 AM

Yeah, Lem hasn't been doing to much or involved in anything besides the money train. (Of course, neither is Ronnie but it's always been that way-kind of an inside joke, lol.) I think it's possible (but not probable) that Lem gets it before the season is out. If anyone on the strike team is going, it's Lem. Shane is too big right now, and Ronnie's death wouldn't mean too much.

Patman 06-02-04 11:33 AM

Danny's comment to Vic about Dog-Girl liking A-Holes was a classic zinger!

Cusm 06-02-04 12:00 PM

I saw the preveiws of next week, and OMFG I can not wait.

PacMan2006 06-02-04 12:21 PM

How can you guys dislike Lem? At least his character has some depth. Ronnie has been around 2 years--maybe 3, and I feel his character is so paper thin that he's easily replaceable.

Patman 06-02-04 12:23 PM

Ronnie's pretty much the hacker, and obligatory disfigurement character on the Strike Team...so far.

DAC 06-02-04 12:43 PM

I can never remember Ronnie's name. That's how much he is just there. If they got rid of him it would be no big loss. If they got rid of Lem or Shane now that would be a season finale.

spainlinx0 06-02-04 01:13 PM

I like Lem. No one seems to like people with a conscious on TV anymore. Shane is a guy that is out to protect himself, and I think Lem and he are going to really have it out when no one is there to stop them.

I like him too. If the team didn't have Lem, they would garner no sympathy from the audience whatsoever.

Jonny2k1 06-02-04 01:28 PM

Lem is actually my second favorite character, next to Vic of course, on the show. I think he needs some bigger storylines like the one previously mentioned. I don't think the Strike Team would get rid of him since he was with them for so long, whereas Terry was fairly new.

Patman 06-02-04 01:48 PM

Waggonbach was one of my faves until he strangled the cat.
