Daily Show reruns two weeks in a row?

It was reruns all last week, so today I was expecting a new show. But it was another repeat. Is Jon Stewart sick or something? Hopefully it's a new show on Tuesday night.

Two weeks off in a sweeps month? I guess cable doesn't pay nearly as much attention to that as the networks, if at all.

What I hate is Comedy Central doesn't say that the shows are repeats in the guide data. They even hide it in the opening credits.

Isn't Stewart's wife pregnant? That could explain the time off.

All I know, is if the opening credits do not display the day's date, I know it's a rerun and I flip immediately. I've made a game on how fast I can flip (to NewsRadio on Biography channel).

Yes, it has missed out on some serious satire opportunities with Bush's latest speech. I really wanted to see how Stewart was going to comment on Colin Powell's interview with Russert last week which was abruptly cut off by an aide. It was a pretty sad comment on who is setting the agenda on this administration.

To be fair, although Powell's aide did try and cut the interview short, Powell ignored the aide and answered Russert's question anyway. I believe it was about his testimony in front of the UN. I agree that the aide acted inappropriately, but it was nice to see Powell stay through to the end.

Additionally, here is the line-up of guests for when they return. Looks like a good batch of shows.

Week of 5/31

Monday 5/31: Sen. John McCain
Tuesday 6/1: David Cross – All NEW
Wednesday 6/2: Thomas Friedman – All NEW
Thursday 6/3: Mario Cuomo – All NEW
