Favorite commercials?

Right now, whenever The Gap commercial comes on (the one featuring the brunette walking and spinning on a beach while that "Summer Breeze" song plays), I drop what I'm doing and just stare for the entire 30 seconds.

Any others?

I don't have any favorites right now, but one of the older ones that makes me laugh every time they run it is one of the Heiniken mini-keg commercials. Those and the tennis ones(the ball boys picking up the empty H. bottles). But the one I'm referring to is the guy sitting on the porch swing and asks for a cold one. A full size keg hits the guy in the chest and knocks him backward off the porch. The dog looks up with this "what's going on?" look.

I wouldn't call them my favorites or anything, but I'm really digging those ESPN NBA playoff commercials that feature a band (I think it's the Black Eye Peas) along with cameos by Santana and George Gervin. Very catchy song and I really enjoy it every time it comes on. My 3 yr old daughter loves it too, as well as the Tim Duncan NBA Finals ad that has him getting analysis from Dr J. She likes to copy his "I'm not listening! La La La" bit over and over. Thanks Tim!

Won't be seeing that Duncan commercial anymore... But I love those commercials. The Ben Wallace one, the Payton one, etc.

Although I see it too much, I like that Verizon one with the "first roommate out of college" bit.

For some reason, I can no longer stand those "I'm leaving you, Budweiser" commercials. Also, those new Sprint commercials makes me feel uneasy, like they're exploiting the little kids somehow...

Ugh, that's one of the most annoying I've ever seen.

I try not to watch commercials. By their very existence, they are insulting.

The ones I like best are the Heineken ones, as well as the Carlsberg ones you see during soccer games.

If you could post the Ikea Lamp commercial, I will be forever grateful. I've been looking for that one for awhile now.

I like the United Airlines one where the guy goes into a tough job interview, realizing he's wearing the wrong matching shoes. He leaves quite down but ends up getting the job.

You can see one of three of those Ikea ads (lamp/living room/kitchen) at this link (choose the settings as need be):

The tampon ad where the girl and the guy are in the boat and it springs a leak. She uses a tampon to stop the leak.

The ad makes sense.

My all time favorite commerical I saw over 10 years ago in movie theaters in Europe. It featured a guy burying his Levis in a New Orleans style funeral. Very very cool.

I found the background song (Screamin' Jay Hawkins singing a Tom Waits tune), but I have yet to find the commericial itself.

Intelligent Commercials

The Master Card "Mini-Series" commercials about Spike getting lost at Redwood forrest then "hitchiking" all they way back home using various friendly people and their Master Card. It makes me tear up every time.

Just to rant on for a moment:

It's funny how a commercial for a product I don't even use (I detest credit cards) can have such an impact on me just because it tells a story. Not only that the story is told in such a way as to extract deep emotions from the viewer. However if I had a TiVo and decided to skip the commercials I would have missed out on that experience. Maybe one day in the future there will be "intelligent" commercials. You see only the commercials you want to see about products you want to use or buy. You'd have the option to skip them altogether or you'd have the option to watch a few and see what the latest eBay song is... or experience the hilarity of the newest "got milk?" commercial and even check in on Spike to see if he made it home.

Although I do whatever possible to FF through commericals, the current commercial that cracks me up is the Monk/Dead Zone one to advertise the new seasons on USA Network.

I don't remember that. Sounds hilarious.

One of my all time faves though only aired briefly. It was an animated(claymation?) Levi's one with a guy wooing a woman on top of a building. Had a classic rock tune in the b/g playing. Can anyone help me out on this one?
