THE JURY (June 8): Each week, 12 ordinary people will piece together a puzzle and then make the most important decision of someone else's life. One new drama will premiere on FOX in November:

A jury of lay people – selected by the contestants – will determine the winner of each trial. Then the losers go on trial – defending their performance before a celebrity "judge," who will decide which individual will be thrown out of court. The last two lawyers standing will go head-to-head to argue a final blockbuster case. With every episode, viewers will be drawn into two dramas – the compelling legal drama of that week's trial, and the suspense of who will ultimately become THE PARTNER.

January will see the premieres of three new drama series on FOX:

This series will explore the intertwined lives and loves of the fictional New England community of Athens, home to a prestigious university that acts as a dividing line between the rich outsiders who study and teach there, and the local townies who serve that population. Viewers will enter this world through the friendship of JED HALL, a young English professor, and ETHAN FROST, an 18-year-old freshman whose arrival changes the dynamics for everyone in Athens. Like Ryan and Seth on "The O.C.," Jed and Ethan will become unlikely partners in an alliance that will forever change them and the people of this town.

AMERICAN DAD, from "Family Guy" creator SETH MacFARLANE, is the animated story of STAN SMITH (MacFARLANE), who works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. Stan will go to extremes to protect his beloved America from harm – as evidenced by the terror-alert color code on his fridge, and his frequent knee-jerk reaction of shooting holes in the toaster whenever the toast pops up. In addition to Stan's wife and teenage children, the Smith household has two rather unconventional members. There's ROGER (MacFARLANE), the sarcastic space alien Stan rescued from Area 51 who deeply resents the fact that he's not allowed to leave the house, and KLAUS (DEE BRADLEY BAKER, "Stripperella," "Johnny Bravo"), a lascivious, German-speaking goldfish – the result of a CIA experiment gone seriously wrong.

Another FOX comedy will return to the schedule in Summer 2005:

The subversive series presents the everyday trials and tribulations of family life, but with the distinctive twist and irreverent slant that only animation can provide. LOIS (ALEX BORSTEIN) is Peter's loving wife, who struggles to maintain a modicum of normalcy in their home life. At first, I was thinking that they were holding off until January because of Monday Night Football. But that doesn't start until 9 EST.

Think of it this way: Is it better to hold off until January, or have them put it on and take it off sporadically.

Well considering FOX isn't bringing back ANY of the regular shows until November, this isn't that long of a wait...looks like Fox is planning to run most of its series past May of 2005.

Also, the text article from FOX claims that 24 will now start at 8pm...but the printed schedule has it starting at 9pm??? I'm guessing it's going to stay at 9 (because of the viewer discretion most episodes have)...but does anyone know for sure?

Considering last year it was held off until November, and many people have the holidays to worry about in Decemeber, I guess it's really not that big of a delay. 24 was one of the only shows that had new episodes over the holidays this year.

So lets see. For their first 2 seasons, 24 and Smallville were on at the same time. For season3 they moved Smallville, which was nice except it was on against Enteprise and That 70s Show. Now they are moving 24, and its up against Las Vegas.

Luckily Tru Calling is moving away from Joey, and Entperise is moving away from Smallville/That 70s.

Now that I have read the descriptions - I'll give these shows a chance, too, particularly The Inside and Jonny Zero.

I actually held my breath when I clicked this thread. Thank God Arrested Development is coming back. Anything else is a distant second in importance to me.

Athens is not a spinoff of The O.C. It is created by the same guy who created The O.C. I'm sure it will be quite similar.

I, for one, look forward to watching King of the Hill and Malcolm in the Middle the last 20-40 minutes of the NFL game of the week.

Cool news about 24... I hope the 2 hour episodes were designed to be 2 hours (that is not ending the first hour on a cliffhanger, and using the whole two hours to build up to something), which would allow a more natural pace. If they are just back-to-back 1 hour episodes it will make the "cliffhanger" between the eps seem really silly. (Or sillier than usual if you will.)

At least Arrested Development will get a fighting chance to find an audience, with 6 months of trailing The Simpsons. Once January comes it's on its own again, but it'll be more than Wonderfalls got.
