Buffy - Heard about it here during the middle of S6, caught up in about two months of FX back to back reruns. Then ended up downloading every episode so I could watch the unedited versions. Buying all the seasons as their released on DVD:)

Monster House - Someone started a thread about this show a couple of months ago, now I can't get enough of it. I just wish they'd stick to a timeslot. And do they ever not complete a build, of all the episodes I've seen they have never failed:(

World Poker Tour - Watch people play poker on TV, why don't we just watch paint dry:). That's what I thought when I saw the threads about it here, and I couldn't have been more wrong. Being able to see what the players have really makes the show.

Although I like you guys, I doubt there's been any show I starting watching because someone here recommended it.

Thanks to you guys, I am enjoying Buffy/Angel in order as aired.

Also, thank you for recommending one of my favorite shows, The Shield. Vic Mackey rocks!

I really don't watch a lot of TV in general, so I usually only get interested in a show when I read other people's discussions of it.

Perhaps the best example of the power of TV Talk is Farscape. I never watched it while it was on, but the forum prompted me to watch it on DVD and I absolutely loved it. It now ranks as one of my favorite shows. I eagerly await Farscape: The Peacekeeper War in October and plan on unloading large amounts of cash for the season sets.

24 is another show I had passed on the first season. After reading everyone drool over it, I bought the first season and didn't regret it. I loved season 2 and 3 and am excited about a no-break season 4 in January.

I also didn't start watching Arrested Development until I saw all the threads and laughed at just reading the quoted lines. Another one I'll pick up on DVD.

On the flip side, one show I kept watching because of this forum, despite how clearly bad it had become, was John Doe. I stayed on board longer than it deserved, but not as long as some of the die-hards on this forum.

I need to get a Netflix account and rent all of Babylon 5. I remember catching parts of it here and there and just hating it (thinking it was yet another show on the level of Andromeda or Beastmaster), but with all of the good vibes going on I think I need to take another look.

. Some of the things I have read about the storylines in Season 6 I can't imagine I would enjoy watching once, let alone owning. From what I understand, the writing wasn't too hot either.

The musical episode sounds interesting though...

Really, you should give it a shot. I rank season 6 higher (overall) than 1, 4, or 5, and a lot of people agree now that it's on DVD and they can view it without the annoyingly-long gaps between episodes. Now, if you want to quit without seeing 7 I wouldn't blame you (I easily rank it last), but I'll be buying it regardless.

And what's the deal with no Angel?? (aghast)
