Joss talks about BBC's Ripper, Gilles, it's in talks

Here's what we can expect when the Watcher heads back to the UK.

Sounds exciting, they are in negotiation stages as Joss said. His interview definately describes what type of show it will be, very adult, have the monsters and stuff, this could be very cool.

Hopefully, this will actually happen this time. Giles was always one the best, if not the best, character in the buffyverse. Part of it was, no doubt, the acting of ASH. I just hope it airs here in america.

Joss writes watchers well. Wesley quickly turned out to be maybe the second best character. Great acting as well by AD definitely contributed.

Only if Willow went bad and sacrificed Kennedy in a dark ritual...
Naked...
Before the opening credits of the premiere...
That's the only Willow/Kennedy show I would watch.

well i am pissed Angel is about over but this sounds cool. Ripper was always a great character. The thing is what will the show be about? Will it be the reforming of the council and all that it entails? Oh well hope it happens!

I think it would be cool if it were some sort of supernatural Mission: Impossible type show. It would be interesting to have a Buffyverse show that isn't in a fixed location, like BtVS and Angel were.

From what I can gather from the clip it doesn't seem like the Council will have any part in this show (if it happens). But I really like the idea of it reforming. I can see a billion stories coming out of that premise.

Giles is a great character and ASH could totally carry his own show(especially a BBC show). Outside of Spike (some hate him and I did too for the longest time), Wesley, or Faith, Giles is such a no brainer.

What I want to know is why is this only being shown on the BBC?

Because ASH lives in England and Ripper most probably be filmed there as well.

BBC is the best place for something like this. They are less likely to axe the show before it completely airs, and a season there is usually only 6-8 episodes anyway. It would be great if Joss thrives over there - we'd have to wait a few months to see stuff on BBCA, but that is better than NOTHING, the Firefly axing or Angel's ridiculously hastened demise!

I will be definitely be watching it on BBCA since Giles gives me the Hot

He does have an unfortunate last name, though. I can say "I like Pitt" or "I like Gere." I can't say the same for ASH tough. I'll leave it up to you to figure out why

Now I did see part of one ep of that series where he is part of an all-male ensemble. I hated that. Maybe I should give it a second chance. But it made realize that Buffy had more going for it than just him, so the rest of the cast means everything also.

You're referring to Manchild. I think it's pretty funny, but then again, I'm a middle-aged man.
