I think she did the right thing. What would happen if Jeff would have mentioned the car at tribal council or at another challenge or soemthing? Then everyone would have known she withheld the information, and it would have been much worse. Better to be up front from the beginning.

EDIT: Guess I should read the whole thread before responding. Just take my above post as an agreement with what Dr. Evil already said.

Season 3 or 4 did away with the previous votes cast as a tie-breaker.

Remember how Pascal in the Marquesas got jobbed because he had no previous votes casted on him, and he was in the final four with Kathy, Vecepia and Neelah. It was deadlocked at 2-2, and Jeff treated them like a jury deadlocked, he had them try to work out a consensus, but in the end it remained deadlocked, so it came to a game of chance where the final four picked rocks out of a bag and the one with the purple rock got the boot.

Rupert is an idiot. Rob is standing there grinning while Rupert and Tom fight. Rupert should have seen this, and pointed out to Tom that "he's trying to work us against each other". Instead they fight while Rob watches and laughs away. And why does the person who says, "I'm playing the game, I got strategy" always get voted out the same night?

Cusm 05-07-04 09:11 AM

I do not care for Rob, but if he is one of the final 2, he will win. The jury always forgives the backstabbing, maybe 6 months away from the game removes most of the sting of betrayal. No one on the jury can not say that Rob has not played the game the best this season, Amber would be the one I would want to face in the final 2, she has done nothing, but Rob, and she may end up the winner. Amber and Jenna are the 2 you want to play against in the fianl 2.

Even though they wait to announce the winner, the voting is done immediately while everybody is still on the "island."

You never know how much is in the editing, but they sure make the jury look like a bunch of bitter crybabies. Lex is always rolling his eyes at the most innocent and honest comments. They should add a new rule to the game: if you whine about being lied to or getting voted off, the remaining players get to each hit you in the genitals with an immunity idol.

Maybe the eyeroll was a little much, but I sure cringed when Amber said what she said about smelling the million. Maybe that reluctance to "rub it in" should have reentered her brain at Tribal Council.

Cusm 05-07-04 09:26 AM

History has still proven taht the scorned, rarely hold it against the "best" players.

I didn't. She stated something obvious. Lex and Shit-Ann are jealous and I wanted to rip their eyeballs out so they could never -rolleyes- again.

But would a chop to the genitals be worse than giving birth? Oops, got my Thursday night shows mixed up!

Groucho 05-07-04 09:42 AM

BTW, I thought it was funny that they made a big deal that the winner of the car had never been the winner of the game. Assuming that the car is always given away when there are five players left, statistically there is only a 1 in 25 chance that the winner of the car and the winner of the game will be the same person.

I think it's obvious Jenna has an secret alliance with Rob/Amber for final 3. Rob/Amber probably are thinking either of them could beat Jenna in a final vote. Only thing that doesn't fit is Rob overhearing Jenna and Rupert's little coconut talk.

The bald face lying to Tom was unnecessary. I can't recall a more blatant backstab. Rob was railing on Tom for "lying," then proceeded to lie about voting out Jenna. They even shook on it. Rob is making alot of enemies.

Well since Tom is gone I have to pull for Rupert now. He better win next immunity or he is done.

Amber's "smell the money" comment was arrogant. She should have kept that to herself.

It's 1 in 25.

Is this the patented Groucho sarcasm? If so, you're slipping. :D

Duhr. You're right.

Patman 05-07-04 09:53 AM

I think Rob and Amber had to be aggressive with forcing Tom to vote for anyone but Ambuh, otherwise, he truly could have been the swing vote against Ambuh. I can't fault that strategy.

As "open" as Amber has been with her comments, I think the editing just makes her sound like the most money-grubbing of the bunch, but reports are that these tribal councils last a few hours (not 10 minutes), so perhaps all of them say these things but only Amber's soundbite makes it in the editing.

Chrisedge 05-07-04 10:01 AM

I've called it all along. Amber and Rob are the final two and Rob wins it all.

Tom was putty in their hands. He was with Rob and Amber 100%. There was no need for accusing him of lying. There was no aggressive force necessary. I fault Rob for that.

I really doubt the tribals last more than 1/2 hour, but perhaps you're right.

BDB 05-07-04 10:12 AM

I would think they do last longer than 30mins.

The Trump boardrooms were 2-3 hours long of grilling.

It's my 1st season watching survivor and I am enjoying it and will be interested to see how it plays out with the whole 'voting' apsect. All new to me.

I have to respect the way Rob has dominated this game, he pretty much beats up on everyone in every challenge. I knew he'd have an easy time with the knife part of the obstacle course as he nailed it first time out against shii-ann.

das Monkey 05-07-04 10:18 AM

Tom was putty in their hands. He was with Rob and Amber 100%.

Not true. Tom made it a point to refer to himself as the "swing vote" multiple times. He was talking out of both sides of his mouth, saying "I'm with you 100%" but also trying to push the "I'm the swing vote" angle. He made his own bed with those comments.

MrE 05-07-04 10:34 AM

If Rupert and Jenna remain a unit, then they can tie the vote with Rob and Amber. Of course given the exceptional level of stupidity ALL these players have shown, they may not figure that out. So the only thing the next immunity challenge means is that you're in the final 3.

Yeah, Jenna should have responded "Then close your legs, Amber."

I'll say it again. Who cares how you or anyone else thinks the jury should react? What matters is - certain people, while playing a game like this for several weeks, are not going to have the same reaction you do while reclining on your sofa and watching them on television. Understanding human nature enough to realize that just like you and several others here react to the jury's perceived hypocrisy, they themselves are probably similiarly reacting to the players still in the game - is the kind of knowledge that people who lose jury votes could desperately use.
