I hope Rupert brings a submachine gun to the finale and then goes apeshit on everyone.

shaggybrown 05-06-04 09:47 PM

I don't get why Rob and Amber stuck with Rupert and Jenna. Didn't Rob overhear them saying they would vote him out if he didn't win immunity?

dstrauss 05-06-04 09:48 PM

Actually, the final tribal council vote (which we'll see Sunday) was December 11th, so it's been nearly five months. That's plenty of time, and it's not like these players were as malnourished as some of the other seasons.

Best unspoken line of the night:

"I gave you a blow job, you gave me a car!"

I have no idea, but what I truly hope for is that the final vote will actually take place live after the jury gets to see the show.

Never Happen. If it did, no one would ever be candid in the interview segments again.

Josh-da-man 05-06-04 10:08 PM

Rob just amazes me.

Everyone says he's a brilliant player, but, Jesus Christ...

He's doing things that should get him and Amber booted.

He's the "alpha male" who runs the show. Strike one.

He's humping around on Ambuh. Strike two.

He and Ambuh come back and brag about their new cars. Strike three.

But nobody will make a move against either of them. Even when they don't have immunity, it's like nobody thinks either of them can be voted out. I'd like to know what the hell kind of manuevering Rob is doing that we aren't seeing. Whatever it is, it must be fricking brilliant. The little shit should get into politics.

Dr_Evil 05-06-04 11:08 PM

I think if Rob and Amber had decided not to mention the car, then Jeff would have said something at tribal council, which would have looked even worse for amber. So I think it was the right move on her part. And really, who did they think Rob was going to pick? He didn't know he was giving her a car, he was just concerned about getting some action in the back of his pickup.

Sadly this will be the first week where the game is really on. The alliance that Rupert, Jenna, Rob and Amber had was not played up by CBS for obvious reasons, but was strong enough to get them through. Should be fun to see how the challenges play out.

My guess........... The final vote will be among the final 3 not 2!!!!! :)

Just my guess

Doesn't it say somewhere in the rules that you can't agree to split the money with anyone? How is the relationship between Rob and Amber not a HUGE violation of these rules? Obviously if either one of them wins immunity, they would pick the other on the basis that they will share it afterwards? Perhaps this big secret is that Probst takes their money away because of this clause and gives it to the third place person. :)

In one way of looking at it, they never split it (assuming one won). One can keep it. The rules do not state that another contestent can't get any benefit from the money. Splitting would be a division of the money.

TwineTime 05-06-04 11:53 PM

The thing is, I don't hate Rob. I just think that when you're playing a game like this, you have to know who you're putting onto the jury, and how they'll react. Who cares whether or not Rob thinks Lex should forgive him. What matters is how Lex reacts to betrayal. Anyone who's seen Survivor: Africa (and I assume Rob watched) knows how the man behaves when he thinks someone's wronged him. He just seems to be playing for 2nd place.

Jenna might suck at strength or speed challenges, but if the final immunity comes down to balance or holding the idol like it's been in the past, she has an advantage as a woman (especially one who seems determined to win).

Finally, Amber might have gotten pregnant last month, but a lot of Survivors take months to recover after playing this game. I don't think it'd be a good idea to have a baby so soon after enduring those conditions. Maybe they're getting married.

That would be a great twist if it happened.

I would love that. The major flaw with that idea, though, is that with 7 jury members the game could potentially end in a 3-3-1 vote, leaving a tie for first that they would have to settle somehow.

Then the one with the 1 vote will decide!!!

Ooohhhh.... :)

John-In-VA 05-07-04 06:32 AM

Does anyone remember the spoilers from months ago about who would be voted out each week and who would be in the final two?

I don't know if each week is holding up, but there is still a chance for the final two to be the final two in the spoiler list.

Struz 05-07-04 07:43 AM

I can't believe these clowns are All-Stars ?

How stupid can 3 people be.
What does Rupert and Jenna think that one of them will make it to the final 3 and then somehow beat Rob at immunity ?

Not likely. Rob has been dominating all the immunity challenges.
Even if it something stupid like holding onto a pole or standing on a small peice of wood, Amber could win and pick Rob for the final 2.

Their only shot is to vote together for Rob or Amber and try to win the tie-breaker.

I don't see how Rob is going to win a jury vote against anybody.
This jury HATES him. You could see it in their expressions.
Now Rob has Tom on the jury who looked like he wanted to kill him last night. The only possible vote he has right now is Shi-Ann.

Chew 05-07-04 08:08 AM

The vote to get down to three should be interesting. No matter who wins immunity: I'm sure the vote goes to either Rob/Amber or Rupert/Jenna. It's gotta be 2-2. Doesn't it fall back on who's gotten the most votes over the tribal councils?

Anybody have those vote totals for our final four?

Alyoshka 05-07-04 08:18 AM

I sure wish the other Rob was still here.

Patman 05-07-04 08:19 AM

Actually, it seems to me that the final immunity challenge (some endurance/balance competition) has favored women over men (Colby and Brian are the two examples that comes to mind where that wasn't the case).

If it goes 2-2, I think Jeff has those 2 with votes compete in "sudden death" with trivia questions or some other type of quick competition. They don't count previous votes cast against the contestants (which was pretty much done away after Jeff got dusted in season 2 when it was a dead-lock between Jeff and Colby).

Groucho 05-07-04 08:22 AM

If there's a tie, the rule in the past has been:

1. Person with the most votes from previous tribal councils gets eliminated.

2. If both people have the same number of votes, then there is a mini-challenge to determine who goes.

I don't know if this has changed for All-Stars, or if they have a special rule for the final 4.

Right now, Amber has more votes against her than the other three combined.

Guess not.

Oh, and I really like Jenna's comments about how it's possible that people may have like, LIED, and that would be just, WRONG!

djbrown 05-07-04 08:28 AM

The most important thing in this episode was Amber looking real good in that inverted baseball cap......

Red Dog 05-07-04 08:29 AM

Brilliant. :lol::thumbsup:

I just wonder if Tom had an off-camera deal with Rupert and Jenna as well. He was supposedly the swing vote so I have to think that they had a deal to vote Amber off. I am certain that he did not believe Rupert and Jenna would be voting for him either (he must have figured that they would vote for Amber0>

And here is a  to Lex and Shit-Ann's  at Amber's comment about 'smelling the million.' Yes, you losers, she is that close.
