Did HBO pull "Strip Search"?

http://www.hbo.com/apps/schedule/Sch...TAIL&ID=104192

There was an HBO original movie, "Strip Search," by Tom Fontana, Barry Levinson, and Sidney Lumet and Starring Glenn Close and Maggie Gyllenhaal, which aired last Tuesday.

It was set to replay last night, and I set the VCR to tape it, but instead, they showed one of those retarded "Hookers at the Point" shows. Digging around the schedule on the HBO website, it appears that all subsequent showings of this program have been replaced with other programming.

Anyone know what's up with this?

I hope this isnt a spolier, but if you havent seen this yet, and youre a fan of Maggie Gyllenhaal and you are a fan of nudity, then you will quickly decide that this is the best movie EVAR.

It looks like all future airings have been cancelled.

When I realized that I missed this, I went to HBO's website that night (early morning on the 28th) to look up future airings. When I found the listing for 4-27, I clicked on the title, and it didn't list any future airdates. I thought this seemed a bit strange, so I downloaded the .pdf HBO guides, and in the May guide, it listed several May airdates, including Sunday, May 2, at 12:00 am. So I set my VCR to tape it and got that "Pimps and Hos" thing instead.

So I went back to the HBO site, and checked the online schedule against the ones in the .pdf HBO Guide, and every single one of the showings has been replaced.

On the IMDB message board for this particular film there's some speculation that HBO pulled the program due to controversy. Which, since there isn't any other apparent reason to pull it, is about the only theory available. But even then, it debuted to very little fanfare and subsequent showings seem to have been pulled from the schedule either immediately AFTER it was aired or prior to even being aired once. (Link to IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376215/board/threads/ )

As I said, the .pdf guide shows airings on: 2 May 12:00 am, 6 May 3:30 am, 10 May 11:10 pm, and 14 May 12:30 am. All of which seem to have been replaced with other programming.

Very curious.

It's airing here in Canada. I saw the first twenty minutes. It seemed "ok" but pretty basic. Good subject matter, but since it's something I already agree with, I didn't need to watch the whole thing... maybe it it were better I would have, but it just seemed too basic.

But it looks like HBO pulled it... a shame, I think a lot of people could have benifited from seeing it... though judging by the imdb boards, some people just don't get it.

I saw it. It was OK, a bit tedious. It reminded me a lot of the film Closetland, if anyone's seen that. I didn't realize there was any controversy surrounding it. I haven't seen any ads for it to air again.

I have HBO On Demand, and it's not listed under HBO Original Movies either.

just a heads up:

my DTIVO found this playing on the following dates:

Fri. 5/14 at 10:00pm eastern on HBO2
Sat. 5/15 at 1:00am eastern on HBO2W
Tues. 5/18 at 11:00pm eastern on HBO2
Wed.5/19 at 2:00am eastern on HBO2W

you may want to watch these times and see if it plays.

edit: these showings do not show up on HBO's site.
