Huh? What do you mean exact same time? Phoebe got married months ago. Done. Chandler and Monica bought a house. Done.

Those 2 events happened way before last night's episode right? How is that "the exact same time"? Seriously sometimes I think people are just *looking* for something to NOT like about the show.

I give them props. I love the show. Always have. I'm sure its pretty hard to try to end a show thats been on the air for this long, with all the loose ends they have to tie up. I personally enjoy the Rachel and Ross on again/off again. Thats how they've always been. Nothing new there. I'm starting to buy all the Friends seasons on DVD, so soon I will have them all.

I was over at a friends house the other night, and we were watching Season 3. I LOVE "The One Where No One is Ready." CLASSIC Friends episode. Its the one where Ross has this big even but no one is taking him seriously. Rachel is trying to figure out what to wear, Monica is worrying about a message from Richard, Phoebe is ready but then spills something on her shirt, and Chandler and Joey are fighting over the chair. Chandler hides all of Joey's underwear, and Joey puts on every article of clothing that Chandler owns. "Look at me, I'm Chandler. Could I BE wearing anymore clothes?!" One of my favorite episodes. Right up there with "The One with the Prom Video."

Not only that, but I think the closure for Joey and Ross results from everyone else's.

Complete guess on my part: Ross goes to Paris with Rachel, leaving Joey the only "friend" not attached. This leads into the spin-off.

Who was watching the baby at the end when rachel goes to ross's place? I thought they'd work the baby monitor into the ending scene with Phebes and Joey, but NOOOOOoooo. Someone call the guy from SVU and report child neglect.

My guess for the resolution of the Ross/Rachel storyline:
Spoiler:
Rachel gives one last tearful goodbye, and goes off to the airport. She sits in the plane with Emma and looks tearfully out the window. Cue 15 minute montage of Ross and Rachel moments scored by new age crap. Rachel is taken out of the moment by Emma, who shouts "Daddy!" Ross has boarded the plane and takes his seat next to Rachel. Cue closing credits.

My question is who will get Monica and Chandler's apartment? Are they just going to leave it empty? In last night's episode, Monica asked Ross if he wanted it, but I think he said no because it would be too expensive. So will Phoebe and Mike take the place?

I don't think so because as I understand it, Mike's filthy rich or something. I think they'll really just give it up since it's really the primary setting of the show.

Little tip... it's not real! None of this is actually happening. It's all make believe. Monica and Ross Gellar are characters in a story, not real neighbors of ours. That little picture box in your living room isn't a portal into real NYC apartments. It's called a television, and the Gellars and all of their Friends are part of a weekly story called a situation comedy. Usually these comedies tend to differ from our everyday life in that the characters are put into situations that the viewing public can only somewhat relate to. That's why these people never actually have to go to work, or take care of their kids, or worry about their finances. Just try and sit back and enjoy the story, but remember that none of it is really taking place, nor does any of it really matter.
If you need to see a true depiction of the world, try the Simpsons. It may look a little funny, but that's just because of the cameras they film with.

Now, that would make an interesting end of the show. Do a whole Friends/Final Destination thing

I just wish everyone would let the show go off in the sunset. I think everyone is expecting too much and want some hilarious finale but it probably won't happen. The storylines are sub-par to what they once were and I've just accepted the fact that the show will end next Thursday. It doesn't matter whether the show is funny or sad next week. I'm just going to let it be what it is and try to remember when it was funny.

What, like Monica wakes up with Alex Keaton next to her and realizes it was all just a dream?

Doesn't it just go back to the Geller family since it was her grandmother's place?

Hey, I'm just as much of a FRIENDS fan as the next guy, but I think my fever for the show was quelled this year with the immense separation between new episodes and the overall lazy feel of the writing:

Case in point - how does Chandler get rid of Janice at the open house? By professing his "love" for her, which is EXACTLY the same resolution for not inviting her to his wedding 3 years ago!

And how about Monica and Chandler's birth mother giving birth on the exact same night as Rachel's departure? Couldn't they separate the two storylines by a couple months? And Phoebe's marriage seemed VERY rushed and lacked the emotional appeal as Monica and Chandler's a while back.

Just a FRIENDS fan's rant.

I always think of the Cheers ending. Not a terribly great show, but the closest thing to "riding off into the sunset". I liked it.

I'm hoping Friends ends like that. Everything in place (meaning Rach and Ross get together, Monica gets her baby, Phybs is happy being married, and Joey finally gets a break and has a somewhat steady job). Sure, would be very predictable. But ok by me.

Sorry, we're closed.

Brilliant. I don't mind a ride of into the sunset finale, but with only 18 ep. it does seem rushed. They took too much time getting to the finale. Almost like they didn't start planning until there were only 6 ep. left.

I thought this was a pretty good episode. Joey trying to jump the ledge was just hilarious, as was him getting punched in the head and kicked in the nuts. Yeah, Friends might not be as funny as it once was...but it is still a great show. Of course they are gonna be wrapping up the loose ends, the SHOW IS ENDING. IMO, they aren't tying up all the loose ends at the same time, but sometimes life just happens like that. Think of college friends graduating, they tend to do the same thing. It's not that unrealistic, and even if it seems like it, it doesn't really have to be since it's just a TV show.

Interesting (and good IMHO) audio interview (about 4 minutes) on NPR radio with a guy that helped write then last ep of Hill Street Blues. He talks about "series ending shows"

(wasn't sure if I could link directly to the audio clip).
