Can you Coupling II? Too many sex jokes that a) weren't funny and b) had no point.

OTOH, the preview clip with Donkey was funny - why don't they just give him his own show?

I saw bits and pieces of the show last night and it didn't keep me interested. The animation looks great though.

they said it takes 9 months to do a show.. can that be right? they must prepare for a year or two for just 1 season

That's why I'm giving it another shot. Hopefully they use different writers for different episodes since they must have to work on several concurrently.

The only thing I'm holding out for on this show is Donkey.

I think thats how many "man hours" or "man months" it takes. I.e. How long it would take for one person to do it. They have tons of people working on it and probably get it done within a couple weeks?? Not sure about the schedule.

If it literally took 9 months for one episode it would take nearly 10 years to do 13 episodes.

only the Siegfried and Roy segments were rometly funny, other than that the humour is really smutty and not that amusing... whatever.

I liked Andy Richter as a panda. None of the laughs were really LOL funny just slightly amusing. But I'll try it again just because of the future guest appearances.

Yeah, they were way off of that mark.

I thought this was pretty good. I'll actually tune in next week. Funniest parts for me...

- anything Siegfried and Roy said, pretty much. I know they had to sign off on this, so I think it's great that they can laugh at themselves like that.

- "He's disobeying my orders. He's a Broken Arrow." LOL

- Crap. Something at the end. I just forgot it.

Anyway, I thought it was good enough to watch another episode. Looking forward to Donkey.

It does take nine months for one episode. These sort of extended production schedules are standard for animated shows (The Simpsons takes about nine months per episode as well). The reason it doesn't take 10 years to do one season is because (surprise, surprise) they work on more than one episode at a time.

I think your expectations have been to high. This is a tv series not a movie. They aren't making millions of dollars off of it so its going to come off half assed. For a tv show I thought it was amusing and I really enjoyed it. I will be recording the whole series since I know it wont make a second season.

NBC Primetime? They certainly are making millions of dollars off of it if it lasts more than the first season. My expectations were that the writing wouldn't be a pile of crap like the first episode was. I'm guessing the only people that are working on this that also worked on Shrek are the animators.

I thought it was alright. It has potential. I have seen much worse first episodes of series that have turned out alright. The main concern is that all of the humor is really forced adult humor. They are all toilet jokes or stupid jokes that middle schoolers would tell. Not like Simpsons where the jokes are more subtle and mature.

It's strange but the funniest thing to me was the Indian Elephant, who was really indian! I thought it was hilarious. That was about it. I chuckled a little bit but that's it.

Alright, I watched a lot of the olympics so the stupid teasers ruined a lot of the jokes but was anyone else surprised when the cat didn't whisper "help me"? It just kind of mouthed it.

I just watched the pilot this past week, and thought it was okay. Actually, the funniest part of the show for me, anyway, was how John Goodman's character is named Larry and Cheryl Heines is his wife. Granted, not nearly as good as Curb, but it cracked me up.

Some good voices, animation was good (but nowhere near as good as other Dreamworks flicks), but it wasn't too funny. I'm gonna give it some more tries, see if it improves.

Finally got around to watching this.

Got through maybe 10 mins.

Awful.

Unwatchable.

I didn't want to start a new thread to talk about tonight's episode since I don't think it deserves it. How is it humanly possible that this episode was less funny than last weeks?

I enjoyed tonight's episode. Roy's feud with Matt Lauer was cracking me up.

Watch it again next week? Check.

<hr>Line of the night:

Kate: "Blake and Victoria, what a surprise."

Larry: "Yeah kinda like coming off the gas a little early and finding your dentist doing up his pants."

Blake: "Well, let's go dear."

Victoria: "But I wanted to get the name of his dentist."

I still like this show. I know i'm in the minority but i can't help it. Also, I enjoy the portrayal of Siegfried & Roy, which seems to be what people hate the most.

Siegfried & Roy are the only reason I'm still watching this. They're funnier then any of the animals, though the lesbian gophers were pretty funny.

The show isnt great but its good for what it is. I think its pretty funny. I don't really care for the sigfreid and roy characters I actually think their kinda of boring. I just find it humorus seeing certain animals say ridiculous things.
