Favorite Season of Star Trek : TNG?
Just curious as to you guys' favorite season of Star Trek : TNG. I think they all contain some great episodes, but I'd have to say Season 3 was the best. The first two seasons the writers were still finding a direction and were developing the characters, but by Season 3 everything was in full swing and had the most consistantly good eps in my opinions, like:
"The Survivors"
"Who Watches The Watchers"
"Yesterday's Enterprise"
"The Offspring"
"Best of Both Worlds I"
Season 6 is a close 2nd. With episodes like:
"Chain of Command I & II"
"Tapestry"
"Face of the Enemy"
"Rascals"
How about you guys? What would be your favorite TNG episode and why?

I'm going with Season 3 as well. Mainly for the fact it's the season it finally came into it's own. Having the best cliffhanger in the history of Trek didn't hurt matters.

Ok, then, I'll go with the episode where John de Lancie is hitting on Jennifer Hetrick and they end up going off to explore the universe together.

Looks like most people enjoy Seasons 3-6 the most. I feel that is when TNG hit it's stride. Granted there were a few good ones in 2 and 7 but not enough of them.

Which season had the episode where aliens hit them with the amnesia ray, then sneak one of their guys on board to pretend he's an Enterprise officer and try to convince them to blow up the other aliens?
(And is that the worst plot summary ever or what?)

Ok, I really enjoyed TNG overall. However, when Dr. Polaski (sp?) came about she grated my nerves so badly I stopped watching for a while, hence, missing The Best of Both Worlds during the original airings (you miss something when you catch eps. years later).
I think season 5 is one of my favorites as well. Inner Light is so good and Conundrum rates high on my list as well.
Hey Chew, do you know which season Half Life and The Game and the one with Thomas Riker appear? (Gotta go pull out my Trek encyclopedia out one of these days.) How about the ep. where Riker's reality is altered - he thinks he's in a play, hospital, etc. and he keeps crashing through the realities (cool glass breaking visual effect).

"The Game": Season 5
"Second Chances" Season 6 for Thomas Riker
"Frame of Mind": Season 6 for the Riker altered realities.

Don't remember my favorite season, but some of my favorite episodes are:
Best of Both Worlds, I & II
Family
Yesterday's Enterprise
A Fistful of Datas
Relics
The Drumhead
For the Drumhead they were low on special effects budget, so all the action was onboard the ship and there was a lot of intense dialog.
With the first link, a chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably. [...] The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we are all damaged.

TNG took about 2 seasons to come into it's own and find it's legs. The show hit it's peak at season 3 (although I think the second half of Best of Both Worlds was pretty damn weak. It didnt deliver on the promise of the first half at all).
The quality of the show dropped WAY off after Roddenberry died - allowing for the scripts still in production while he was around, the show went downhill towards the end of season 5. It was completly unwatchable by the time season 7 rolled around.
People turning into bugs and primates? Yeah, that's a REAL solid script. Thanks - I'll go watch B5 instead.

Really? This is probably one of my most hated TNG episodes. Just curious, but why do you consider this a favorite?
