I thought Fantasia was great. Yes, her Summertime was different Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong's, but that's part of why it was great--no point just copying someone else.

I'm hoping Diana or JPL goes. I'm no fan of Teen Martin, but as someone above mentioned, the thought of him performing on disco night is amusing.

Tonight was very strange. Not that I disagree with the bottom 3 or anything but how do JPL and JS avoid the B3 each week cranking out out one cringe inducing performance after another. THEN just when they both pull off one of their best performances yet - their fans suddenly lose interest.

JPL should have been gone weeks ago (in fact he should have never been there to begin with) but why this week? Does anybody have a theory??

Reminds me of an old SCTV sketch:

"Perry Como is 'Still Alive!'
Live at the Melonville Auditorium"

Eugene Levy as Perry Como is stretched out on a chaise lounge, singing like on a a half dozen qualudes:

"I love the night life
I love to boogie
On the disco round, oh yeah"

All the while, 5 woman in glittery costumes are singing "He loves the night life...he loves the night life." Classic stuff.

It just seems to fit so well.

BTW, thanks Replay (sarcastically)! They caught the schedule change for last night's show but had no listing for the recap tonight. Thinking it was on at 8:30, we just caught JPLs booting.

Did we miss anything??

JPL didn't deserve to leave just yet... John Stevens should have gone.

But JPL did give one great performance before he left!

Who were the bottom three?

When they actually sung they suddenly lost their coolness in peoples eyes.

My faith is restored.

The Whiteys were on the chopping block tonight! Surprise to all of us, it seems.

And I missed it!

I guess folks just grew weary of his dorky stage presence. Did QT telling Red that he wasn't a fan lead to his bottom 3 appearance?

How many 14 year old girls appreciate 4 rooms, Reservoir dogs, pulp fiction? Or even his main steam Kill Bill? They just focused on Diana.

I've said it for weeks, and not one person will disagree with me, get rid of the white ppl (jas, diana, red) then it will be interesting.

Actually I read an article just the other day that Kill Bill has proved to be very popular with teenaged girls. Go figure.

But I don't think QT had much influence...after all JPL was one of the people he praised.

Looks like Jasmine picked up Camile's voting block, which kept her afloat. Likewise, John S. will probably get JPL's "sloppy seconds." Plus, next week is Barry Mantilow, so I imagine he'll last.

My prediction is that it's finally Diana's time to go.

I will. Get rid of the black people and the black judge and it will be even better.

Get rid of one of the black judges and the white people seems like a good fair comprimise.

Would America lose interest?

One thing I want to know is, after each person is voted out, why do they then have to re-perform the song that made them get voted out? I actually liked JPL's performance (and didn't mind hearing it twice), even those his voice is sub-par and keeping him around was just prolonging the inevitable (hear that, Red?). He was having fun, and the crowd was into it. I have to say I'll miss him....at least he wasn't boring like some of the others.

Still, I really do think they should get to pick a new song to sing as their farewell, instead of redoing one they've already done. I mean, if they have a disco night and Red ends up getting voted off, would we really want to sit through him doing something like "Get Down Tonight" again? Actually, it depends on how train-wreck bad it is. "Do a little dance...scooby dooby doo...make a little love...(random finger snapping and awkward gyrations)...get down tonight"

I think the contestants would rather master one song than try and rehearse two on the chance that they might get voted off.

Think of Teen Martin. He has enough trouble with the one he's got.

I don't care what anyone else says ... I don't like Fantasia's voice, from what I seen, she has a bad attitude and I hope she is voted out ASAP. As long as she doesn't win, I am happy.

Camile's ouster really motivated people in Hawaii to vote. Verizon Hawaii said there was something like 1.8 million calls out of Hawaii last week compared to 3 million this week.

That being said, I voted for LaToya as usual.

I agree with Moocher. Both Johns did not deserve to come this far, or even get selected in the first place.
I would like to see LaToya win.
To me, knowbody is as good as Kelly Clarkson.
