I enjoyed the old Batman TV show but at a certain point I think they started making up super villians. Anyone remember all those bad villians they had? Black Widow was an old lady, King Tut, The Puzzler which was a rip off of Riddler, Clock King, Bookworm (still not sure what his thing was), and Egghead (also not sure what his thing was. I also remember a character called Rainbow Raider whose power was to remove color from a room (seriously). Are there any other I'm forgetting because a friend and I were hysterically laughing about this last night.

To the best of my recollection, except for Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman and Mr. Freeze, all of the other villains were fabricated for the TV series. I think it was an "in" thing at the time, to either be a guest-villain or a head poking out of the window as the Dynamic Duo scale the wall.

I was looking up stuff on the internet and Rainbow Raider was actually in the comic book his alter ego's name was Roy Biv. How lame is that?

I thought Mr. Freeze was a creation for the show that eventually ended up in the comics.

Mr. Freeze (then called Mr. Zero) first appeared in Batman #121 way back in 1959 So he predates the tv show.

There was another villian called "The Minstrel" who I believe played a harp. Anyone remember that one?

Clock King is from the comics. He was the arch foe of Green Arrow. He was later killed off in an issue of Sucide Squad.
I believe Batmans co-creator Bill Finger co-scripted this episode of Batman.

Clock King also showed on B:TAS.

Also "The Minstrel" was played by Van Johnson.

And I forgot that The Mad Hatter made an appearance. He was originally from the comic books, first appearance Batman #49, October 1948.
