Man, I know whining about good shows getting cancelled can get pretty tiresome around here, but these lists are pretty pathetic. The only shows I'm really happy about coming back are: Gilmore Girls, Scrubs, OC, One Tree Hill, and Malcolm. Whereas, I liked almost half the shows on the cancelled list. Of course I guess I watch more cable and reality shows than I thought since neither of them are represented on this list.

What's even more surprising is the voting for the "On the Bubble" shows. Tru Calling is the only one where "Keep" is winning. I can't believe over 46% have voted to drop Arrested Development. Also, what's with Steve Harvey's Big Time having the most drop votes? I kinda like that show even though I usually don't watch it because of conflicts.

Whoopi: I can't see how its still on, but Tracy Morgan got so easily axed.

Kingdom Hospital: I wasn't a fan, but are they at least going to finish out the 13 episode run?

I disagree. I look at that list, and I see little more than 5 shows I'm truly disappointed about losing. Whereas, I'm thrilled about the return of over 20 of the shows on the first list. And from the "on the bubble" list, really only Arrested Development would be a criminal loss. I'd love to see more Tru Calling, and Happy Family makes me laugh, but it won't be a huge loss. Yeah, it makes me sick to see shows like Angel and Karen Sisco and Boomtown and Wonderfalls snuffed out, but there's a lot of good shit coming back, and I'm far from a network apologist.

As for the voting, keep in mind that most people are going to vote to Drop what they don't watch, because they love to reinforce their ignorance, but of all the shows listed, note that Arrested Development does have the 3rd highest number of Keep votes. While still embarrassing, it's not as bad as it seems.

Err, can someone explain to me how the District is on the bubble? Isn't it usually the highest rated show on Saturday nights, and didn't CBS just broadcast it both last night and tonight? They seem to have a lot of faith for one of the only shows they haven't renewed yet.

I love the show, and was sure it was a shoe-in for renewal. Seeing it in the same list as Whoopi, Tru Calling, Arrested Development and Steve Harvey's Big Time has me worried...

I am sorry to see Cracking Up go. It's not on par with the genius of Arrested Devlopment, but I really do enjoy the show, and love the talent involved, and am just glad to see a sitcom developed by Mike White on the air. The show has it's moments, and would probably buy a DVD if they choose to put it out on DVD.

I am surprised to see The Help on the bubble. I hope it survives. It's not the strongest show ever WB has aired, but I enjoy it for what it is, and anytime I can see Kerri Lynn Pratt on a weekly series is worth it to me! The show has potential, but I'd get rid of Tori Spelling from that show. It's sad to see so few people voted to keep it. Where is the love people! This show may not be gold, but let this go and what else are we going to have? It's WB Friday night, fer cryin out loud. I've seen other crap on there and this is good compared to that stuff. AAAAGHHH!

And this is REALLY PISSING ME OFF:
7. Arrested Development - Fox
46.42% 17621 votes Drop
27.74% 10532 votes Don't Care
25.84% 9808 votes Keep

How much do TV execs look at this crappy poll???

I noticed Line Of Fire isn't on any of the lists at all. What does that mean? I love Line Of Fire and can't lose it.

If it was up to the common viewer, Seinfeld and Cheers would've ended after one season.

I will fight a holy war to keep Arrested Development on television.

Sad about these Gone or On The Bubble shows:

Boomtown
Cracking Up
The D.A.
Ed
Game Over
The Handler
Karen Sisco
L.A. Dragnet
Miss Match
Arrested Development
Happy Family
I’m With Her

I could easily cut at least twice the number of shows that I have listed above from the renewed pile and have more left to cut. Reba? According To Jim? Still Standing?

I am sad to see Married to the Kelly's on the gone list. I thought it was a funny show. Oh well, shows that I usually think are good get cancelled anyways so I am used to it. This is why each year I watch less and less TV. Down to about 4 hours a week of primetime viewing.

Don't forget Married with Children and All in the Family. There are other shows that I recall seeing on shows like E True Hollywood Story and other shows where it was mentioned these long running and hugely successful sit coms languished for the first year in the ratings. I think Married With Children couldn't break out of the bottom of the ratings for the first year, if I recall right. There are so many shows that went on to generate huge and loyal viewership and become flagship shows for the networks that just had a hard time in season one.

Of course, if Married With Children premiered now, Fox would cancel it after four episodes because it couldn't "perform." You know there are many great shows that could have had Cheers like runs that these networks cancelled to early? I know for a fact there are, because you could see the great chemistry and talent in the short runs they had and can only imagine the great things they could have done with several years.

But, hey, Simple Life season three is starting, so that tells you something right there.

I'm sad to see The Handler and Miss Match going. I hope that Happy Family gets another season to grow.

Everything else I watch is staying.

I suspect that there is some star trek enterprise fan page that is skewing all the results and giving the huge % of don't cares

it's crazy how little time they give shows anymore

I think Arrested Development has the potential to be a huge hit if they let it stay on next season....sometimes word or mouth takes a little time

Frankly, I don't understand the USA Today voting system. 'Vote for a show you would like to see axed?' If you don't like a bubble show, just don't watch it. Don't call for its cancellation.

Hope & Faith sucks. Married to the Kellys was better.

I still say ABC can kiss my ass. Yeah, they have shown faith in Alias, but how about sharing some of that faith w/ shows like Karen Sisco and 10-8.

And it's not improving:

7. Arrested Development - Fox
47.26% 29610 votes Drop
35.13% 22013 votes Don't Care
17.61% 11031 votes Keep

C'mon people, please vote to keep this show, even if you haven't ever watched it. It's worth it to us that do watch it.

I think it would do much better if it did not have Malcolm as its lead-in. Mostly separate audiences, I would think. I know people who saw Arrested Development and loved it (either on the FX marathon or after American Idol) but they always miss it when its on Sundays at 9:30 since they aren't watching Fox that night.

Really? Malcolm is the most intelligent sitcom on network tv. If people aren't tuning in to Malcolm, I think that's more of a shame than not watching Arrested Development. Name one show that would be a better lead-in for Arrested Development than Malcolm.

I've never understood why Fox even put Arrested Development on the air. They had to realize that it would pretty much have the same audience as Andy Richter and yet they put it in the same timeslot even though they cancelled Andy Richter. I'm happy Arrested Development is on the air, but it doesn't seem to make sense to do it. Wouldn't it have been cheaper to continue making Andy Richter instead of developing a new show that is almost guaranteed to not do better?

It's going to be seriously annoying if they cancel Kingdom Hospital in the middle of its 13 week run. With something that has a definite ending point, it's ridiculous to cancel before the final.

I certainly voted to save "Arrested Development." Have the ratings been bad or something? This show is the second funniest comedy on TV today (to "Scrubs").

Damn the fanboys - only "Enterprise" and "Tru Calling" have more votes for Keep then Don't Care or Drop.

The ratings for AD definitely haven't been very good. Last week, according to Zap2It, a repeat of Malcolm got a 4.7. A new episode of AD afterwards got a 3.6. Not a good sign for renewal...

Tru Calling/Enterprise are basically invalidating this entire poll. You have two cultish fanbases who are going on the USAToday site and clicking drop for every show except the one they are supporting. There's no way the networks will pay this any attention.
