Alias vs. La Femme Nikita

Alias has been on long enough to be compared to LFN (and I couldn't find an earlier poll thread ).

I love both shows in different ways. But I will pick LFN. I think people can watch the show more seriously, and it has more realistic themes although both shows are pretty much "out there" which makes them pretty entertaining.

Alias

I quit watching Nikita around season 3 I think.

LFN has the better Michael and I always liked Madeline, but I think Alias has the better cast of characters and stories.

For me its La Femme Nikita, no contest. It had grittier stories and kickass characters that didn't take crap from anyone. I loved how cold-hearted some of them could be sometimes. Nikita was pretty cutthroat too, but showed a softer emotional side as well, but rarely cracked under pressure. Unlike Sidney who is bawling her eyes out every other episode. The last season of Nikita got a bit ridiculous, but other than that its a superior show in every way possible.

For me it's definately Alias. I didn't make it past the first DVD of the first season of LFN. Just didn't click for me...

I had the same problem with both...they started out with extremely great potential and the longer they ran the less and less I got interested, to the point where I stopped watching both completely (in season 3 both times coincidently).

If I had to pick one, I'd definately go with Nikita, Peta Wilson looked like she could kick my ass, Jennifer Garner looks like someone who is acting like they could kick my ass. As a complelling lead, Wilson was also much more credible (in my eyes).

Apparently, not too many of you remember LFN (otherwise, it would be in the lead now ).

Another thing I can give credit to Alias is their good music. I like the trance/rock stuff, but I still hate the melancholy stuff.

I think LFN airs on the Oxygen channel Friday nights at 1AM.

Can't I have both?

I'd say Alias because of its overall cast.

Speaking of Peta Wilson, they should bring her on Alias for a story arc.

I went with Alias, but I admit I haven't seen much of either. I saw a couple of episodes of LFN, but I never got into it because it didn't interest me. However, I saw a few episodes of Alias, and was very interested but didn't watch it because of schedule problems. I could watch it now but I don't want to come in mid-story and also I hear it's not so good. So I will probably check out the rest of the episodes on DVD.

Wow, took the words right out of my mouth. I'd love to revisit LFN but the S1 boxset is sooo damn pricey.

Nikita, by far. I can't get into Alias. But I'll give it another chance by checking out the dvds.

FWIW, LFN season 1 is a selection of the new CH TV sets club so you can average it out to be a lot less.
