I've got something in my front pocket for you
Why don't you reach on in my pocket and see what it is?
Go on, grab on to it, it's just for you.
Give a little squeeze and say, "How do ya do?"
There's something in my front pocket!
There's something in my front pocket!
There's something in my front pocket!

Ok, now I have seen "You Got Served" spoofed on South Park and SNL. I am gonna Netflix the DVD just to satisfy my curiosity. This movie had a #1 box office weekend. However, it's IMDB's worst rank in the bottom 100. Hopefully, it will be as enjoyable as say, Bring it On or Drumline?

MrX 04-07-04 11:23 PM

"We just got goth served"

I thought the episode was kinda weak at first, then Butters' shoe came off.

I don't think I laughed that hard in years, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack.

spainlinx0 04-07-04 11:54 PM

Weak episode, but it did have some moments. Some parts of Stan's speech to Butters were pretty funny, and the way the people died when Butters kicked his shoes off also got a chuckle.

Dabaomb 04-08-04 12:41 AM

As a former b-boy (break dancer) I saw and enjoyed the dancing in You Got Served (no way it's the worst movie ever). I mean the acting sucked but the dancin' was ridiculous.

Neways, cuz I saw the movie, this episode was one of the funniest episodes that I've ever seen.

They even had "Lil Saint" on the guy's hat (he was a character in the movie). Watchin' those construction paper characters break dance was hilarious.

The Steve Harvey guy was hilarious too.

Stan, YOU GOT SERVED!!!!!!

das Monkey 04-08-04 12:42 AM

They really missed a great final line opportunity. When the host looks over the dead bodies, he should have circle-snapped and said, "you got served!" Roll credits.

Odd flow to this episode. I laughed pretty hard at the beginning where they made such a huge deal over getting served and at the end with the payoff, but the middle kind of dragged. Still, it was very funny in parts and nice to take a break from the last two preachy episodes.

I agree with this. It's probably the most I've laughed at an ep so far this season, just because the "getting served" thing was so ridiculous. Stan informing Butters that his body count was "actually nine... one woman was pregnant, oh and 11 if you count the two family members who committed suicide afterward" had me rolling. The duck thing was just too goofy and not really funny. The DDR reference was amusing, but they really didn't do anything interesting with it. Not their best, but still good stuff.

For some reason I had a feeling he was going to say "Seacrest Out"

Stan, YOU GOT SERVED!!!!!!

I thought it said " Lil Shiit "

I kept saying that guy in the Laker colors looked like Steve Harvey.

Blake 04-08-04 03:45 AM

Yeah, it was Lil Shiit. Pretty good episode, definitely better than last week. But like it was said earlier, the duck was lame, but taking off on the whole "you got served" thing was done pretty well.

msdmoney 04-08-04 05:29 AM

You got Served was a great choice to parody, but this episode was pretty hit or miss.

Chew 04-08-04 06:08 AM

I don't know why, but the Goth dancing had me

Not nearly enough Cartman!! ;)

oh the classic South Park gore - :D

Groucho 04-08-04 08:51 AM

Next week they'd better include a parody of this week's "The Shield" or I'll lose all faith in Matt & Trey.

I did see a promo for next week. Looks like it's the return of:
Spoiler:
Lemmiwinks

Best line was after the first "serving", the boys are just standing there and Kyle said, "What the hell just happened?"

Poor Butters.

One of the best episodes EVER, IMO.

I couldn't stop laughing. The only weak part was the duck thing, but the rest was amazing.

I loved the randomness of it all, how that dance crew just came out of nowhere to "serve" the south park kids at the beginning of the episode.

The DDR kid, the Raisins booty dancing girl, the goths, Stan's dad being injured as a result of being "served", Butters psychological problems as a result of his tap shoe killing numerous people, and how being served was blown way out of proportion had me in tears.

A+

RMSpuhler 04-08-04 12:11 PM

I liked this episode better the first time I saw it...when the kids were in Aspen. Yeah, there were cosmetic differences, but the ideas and motivations were lifted right from there.

But goth dancing was still wicked funny.

slop101 04-08-04 04:40 PM

What was the significance of those kids being from Orange County? Is there maybe an OC in Colorado?

I was waiting for some sort of parody, but it never came.

Deftones 04-08-04 06:39 PM

I thought this was a great episode. I liked how they pulled peripheral characters into this one show.

I think it may have something to do with the actual movie "You got served", maybe one crew was from there.

Otherwise it may have to do with the fact that Orange County is the epitome of suburbia. It fits the stereotype of those kids that think they are "hard" or "down", but are actually just spoiled little brats. NOBODY from Orange County is "street". No offense to those from the "OC".

Irwin Fletcher 04-08-04 10:10 PM

I didn't like this episode but it may be me because I didn't really get any of the dance references and therefore most of the jokes fell flat.

neiname 04-09-04 12:15 AM

What a great show...

dcprules 04-09-04 01:06 AM

Parts of the episode were kind of funny (the Butters stuff was great), but I guess since I haven't really seen any of these dance movies like Honey or You Got Served I was kind of out of the tloop. I was glad to see the goths and the Raisins girls, back, though.

sven 04-09-04 03:37 AM

I thought it was a great episode. The Duck while at first lame had me laughing my hiney off when they showed him laying there with ice on its sprained ankle.

I thought it was a great episode but maybe that was because it was making fun of what I consider to be the gayest movie of all time.

Jadzia 04-09-04 07:47 AM

I am so out of it, I did not even realize there was a movie called "You Got Served". I just figured it was a send-up of cliched dance movies like "Breakin". The satire worked either way which was hilarious.

Slowpc 04-09-04 08:38 AM

Looks like i forgot to re-setup my replayTV for this again. Looks like i will have to download it or just get the rerun sometime this week.

None taken - Being born & bred OC, I completely agree with this analysis.

(funny stat: Santa Ana is considered the "slums" of OC - it's where all the gang-bangers are from and where most of the crime in OC either happens or comes from (if you get robbed in Irvine, the assailant "must have been" from Santa Ana) - but in a survey, it ranked as one of the safest US cities with a population of over 100K)

entitee 04-09-04 01:18 PM

i stayed at a motel in santa ana once and some guy working there came up to me asking what set i was from. hahaha.

cliffzig 04-09-04 01:58 PM

Hey, since Stan's dad used to be in a boy band, it would stand to reason that he MUST have had a better array of dance moves than he showed here.

Don't tell my heart, my achy breaky heart!
