... and yet Tru Calling survives.
Hopefully there'll be a DVD release. If they've already got thirteen shows in the can, they might as well try to recoup something from the unaired episodes.

Guess I will have to wait and see if Bravo (or USA) picks up the show to air the rest of the eps.
I am really starting to wonder why I even bother w/ network tv anymore. At least half of the shows I like get cancelled w/in the first month or two of their premier.

Absolute bullsh*t. Totally frustrating, and yet completely unsurprising considering this was airing on Fox. I'm another who agrees that the execs decided to axe this last week and put it up Thursday against heavy competition as an excuse to slaughter the sacred talking cow. Hopefully Tim and company will be able to pull a Keen Eddie and show us the remaining eps remaining in the can on Bravo. At the end of the day this is simply another first season show killed off far too soon which we can add to the "Please release this show on DVD" thread.

Wow, that was fast. I can certainly see Bravo picking up the remaining eps. The show fits their too-cool-for-school vibe well. Also a big WTF? to Fox. Not even airing a third of the episodes? Why even shoot a show that isn't American Idol or some other reality show?
I will be the first person to praise Fox for puting shows on the air that are different and quirky (Keen Eddie, Firefly, Wonderfalls, Arrested Development, Futurama, Family Guy, The Tick) but if they have no intention of seeing ANY of these shows through then can all suck the big one. I know Arrested D is getting support now, but you know in your hear of hearts that it's going to be gone next season.
Maybe this is all due to the First-Week-Sales/Weekend-Box-Office-Gross culture we're living in. If something isn't instantly successful then *blip*, you go bye bye. Whatever happened to the slow build?

FOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They had no intenstion of seeing it through, why bother green liting it.
I have not seen Wonderfalls, but reviews just seem so good, that when I do see it, I know it's something good, but agggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr at Fox, they piss me off.

It would have been nice if Fox put it in a spot where it had a chance. They gave Tru Calling a chance and it has picked up. I guess you can put file next to Firefly under shows Fox didn't want.

I will miss this show as well.
I have a better question for you all: Why do these producers of these shows try to sell them to FOX in the first place? Don't they know it's a death trap? Better to go with UPN or some fringe cable network where there might be more freedom given to air more episodes and build an audience.
Speaking of which, I haven't seen A Minute With Stan Hooper on in a while...was it axed? I thought that was one of the best small town sitcoms I've seen since Newhart, and the talent involved was awesomely good.

Yep, Stan Hooper was axed months ago. It definitely wasn't a standard comedy, and I found it enjoyable if slightly cheesy. I'm pretty sure there were quite a few unaired episodes, so maybe we'll get to see them on DVD/another network one day.

Makes me wonder why they don't just send their quirkier shows straight to FX. The ratings requirements are much more forgiving on cable. If they were really serious about giving it a chance they should've given it a one time spot behind Idol. Viewers may not have cared despite it, but at least it would've been a fighting shot.

this sounds like a case for Mulder and Scully. try to find out what alien syndicate or brainless monkey(since any monkey with a brain is smarter than a Fox Exec.) is running the Fox Network which is trying to kill all entertaining shows.

Can anyone find a Fox show (outside of their Sunday line-up) that has lasted beyond three seasons?
'24' is one. Tough sledding beyond that.

Bummer about Stan Hooper. I was just hoping it was on hiatus, I never heard about the fate of the series. It wasn't ground breakingly good, but it was good. The ground breakingly good series are once in a blue moon, but the simply good shows aren't exactly a dime a dozen either, so I feel this series is missed.
And it was good also to see Fred Willard and Reagan Dale Neis together on a series again. They were on Maybe It's Me, another series that was wickedly funny but didn't generate the attention it deserved on WB's Friday night.
Back to topic, though, Wonderfalls was a ground breakingly good series, and deserves to be saved

Sorry to get back on topic, but...
