Actor Keith Diamond shot dead

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp..._tv/actor_shot

NEW YORK - An actor who has appeared on episodes of "E.R." and "The Drew Carey (news) Show" was shot twice by his father while he was eating lunch, police said.

Vincent Ford Jr., 42, who uses the professional name Keith Diamond, had flown home to Queens to visit his ailing mother, police said. He was eating in the family's kitchen Sunday afternoon when his father, Vincent Ford Sr., 81, walked in and shot him in the chin and torso, police said.

Ford Jr. was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Sunday night, said Detective Bernard Gifford, a police spokesman.

Police arrested Ford Sr. on charges of first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. A .32-caliber revolver was found at the scene.

The motive in the shooting was unknown, but neighbors said Ford Sr. suffered from Alzheimer's disease (news - web sites) or dementia, according to published reports.

Beside his television work, Ford Jr. has appeared in such feature films as "Dr. Giggles" (1992) and "Biker Boyz" (2003).
I remember him as Drew Carey's neighbor. RIP.

I don't think he should rest in peace yet. According to that article he's in stable condition.

Is this a DVDTalk first? A person that didn't even read their own post?

Sadly... Probably not.

That's an old reference, but at least one other person gets it and thought it was funny.

"Oh Keith Diamond, you shall have not died in vain."

"I'm not quite dead, sir."

"Oh, Keith Diamond, you shall not have been mortally wounded in vain..."

"Actually, sir I'm getting better."

The article clearly says he is in stable condition. Death could be considered stable; you aren't getting any worse.

He may not be dead but it sounds like his career died before it even got started.

When Abe Vigoda actually dies, they're going to have to show off his body, like they did Khomeini's.

Actually what's wrong with resting in peace when you're in the hospital?

Good for him ... the nurses were always waking me up.
