Why does FX's line up suck?

Why does FX's line up suck?
I know this just may be my opinion, but come on, the channel is owned by FOX and all they show are blocks of Cops, Married With Children, Buffy, and the same movies all week long. How many times was ID4 on in the last week. THIS IS FOX, the studio with access to thousands of TV shows and movies and they just show the same handful over and over and over again. What gives?

Yeah, I was flipping around and they were showing some lame cop show with that guy from "The Commish." I laughed for a minute, and kept flipping. What a joke.

Those 2 posts are slightly amusing, but calhoun has a good point. Shield and Nip/Tuck and their reruns only take up a couple hours a week. I love that they show Buffy a lot, but besides that they really don't show anything worth watching. They should show all the great shows Fox has cancelled over the years.

I've had cable for about 5 years now and I can honestly say I've watched FX for maybe 30 min. Due to losing interest of anything I've seen after a few min of watching it.

Obviously they have some great original programming, but I can see his point.

I miss their original format of shows like Personal FX and such mixed with classic tv like Batman and MASH. It seems like sometime in the late 90's, they just dumped that idea and went to nothing but old Fox programs and a few originals like The Shield here or there.

With the exception of their original series, their programming does seriously lack. How many re-runs of 90210 and Cops can one handle? With all the shows that FOX aired over the years (Parker Lewis Can't Lose...hint, hint) - one would think they'd find a second life on FX.

The Shield, Nip/Tuck, Married...with Children, 90210 and the FX Original Movies have been great. But that is only a small chunk of TV...
My question is what the hell happened to LUCKY???
They could do away w/COPS in my opinion...

it used to be all MASH all the time. There's another channel a few numbers up from FX on my cable system, not sure what it's called, that is becoming the all MASH station though. each time I flip by it has mash
the shield though makes up for it

I know what you mean though - the show the same episode of The Shield back to back - what's up with that?!?! I kinda wish they'd just move stuff like Firefly and Angel there and let it rip!

And while I do appreciate their original programming, like somebody said earlier, it is only a few hours a week out of how many hours?
They only show the Practice once a day in the morning at Ally McBeal on Saturday and Sunday at the buttcrack of dawn.
It was while I was watching the Arrested Development marathon on the channel that this question came to me. I was wondering, "Gee, why don't I watch this channel more often" then I checked the online TV Guide and realized why. So much potential...
And I also think that this network would have been a perfect place for Firefly to continue, and there was no real reason to cancel it outright. For those shows that don't fit into Fox's regular schedule (Tick and Andy Richter and Action come to mind immediately), perhaps if they had a second chance on FX, they would still be with us today.
Who is the programming director for this channel? Why do they insist showing the same blocks of shows over and over again?

It would be nice to encore Fox shows that are missed. Mabye even boost ratings and intrest, kinda like they did last weekend with the Arrested Development marathon.
Might catch up with Tru Calling since it's at a weird time on FOX if was on FX.

I love that. Plus it is very smart for them to do this IMO considering that 2 other highly popular cop shows are on ABC (NYPD Blue) and NBC (SVU) at 10 pm (sizeable common audience). I watch all 3 of these and I only have 2 Replay-TVs so the encore showing at 11 allows me to cover all the bases.
