Stargate SG1 reruns on scifi. need help getting caught up
last time scifi did a run through with the 4 eps each monday they got up to the last ep of season 5. I avoided season 6 and 7 when they were new because I hadn't seen all the previous episodes yet (long story why, as I used to watch it when the series first debuted). I want to get caught up before season 8 starts so that I can watch it new. How can I do this?
I know season 6 is on dvd, so I can probably rent it or buy it if needed. This leaves season 7. Is it going to be on dvd before June? If not, is scifi going to reshow it in order before season 8 starts?
right now I'm watching what I've determmined to be ep 3 of season 7, the one where
. So I need to see eps 1 and 2 and then 4-the end. Do I have a chance or am I screwed?

I too am hoping to get season 7 on dvd soon. The only time I watched this when it actually aired was the first half of season 1 on Showtime.

It looks like they’re replaying the 2nd half of the season starting next Friday with Evolution Pt. 1 in the regular timeslot, followed by reruns of the 1st half of the season (Orpheus next week). You just saw Fragile Balance (and I, too, was very impressed with the kid’s talent)
They’ve already replayed Fallen and Homecoming
so it’s possible you’re SOL for those.
Avoid at all costs Birthwright (Jolene Blalock looking more Vulcan than she ever has on Enterprise, but proving she still can’t act) and Fallout, both of which are examples that the show has jumped the shark.

so I have to tape the early friday episode, and watch the 1am episode, then in a few weeks watch the tapes? I could probably handle that. of course, even with dial up there may be other options, but due to being on dial up I'm going to try to avoid them

hmm. looking over the yahoo schedule now. how messed up would I be if I watched the 2 halves season 7 out of order? Have they started having a B5 type story arc or are they basically still stand alone eps that might reference some small thing from a previous episode?

No story arcs that I recall. I don't think there's a problem, if you don't miss any episodes.
There's a big story midway thru the 2nd half that'll be spoiled by the following episode. And, of course, the season finale is a 2 parter.

Here's the episode order in case you need it:
http://www.epguides.com/stargatesg1/
The first half of the season is a lot of throw-away standalones. Not much continuity-contributing. So I would say you can see or not see them in order. It doesn't matter too much.
But the second half of the season has a lot more episodes related to the continuity. You definitely, need to watch Evolution Parts I and II first. Then, I'd make sure you see Chimera and Death Knell. Then Heroes Parts I and II. Inauguration is a clip show, but has some political implications. And then, of course, the season finale, Lost City Parts I and II, which lead into Season 8 and Stargate Atlantis.
