The summary goes something like this: Clark and Pete are doing some volunteer work at the newly opened teen crisis center. One call he receives is from Lana, pleading for help, that someone is after her. He races around, trying to find Lana, only to find her safe and sound asleep at the Talon. Part of the episode revolves around Clark and co. trying to piece together the mystery of the call. (It's from the future.) Now it's a matter of trying to figure out what to do to prevent this future even from happening.

Lionel puts an end to the experimental research he has been funding, and threatens the doctor he's hired with deportation, among other things. He orders the lab to be totally shut down. Unbeknownst to him, Adam Knight is still alive. He is taking desperate measures to stay alive, and through a few chain of events, blames Lana for taking his serum. It had been stored away in a hollow book with his other belongings.

Lionel is also getting desperate for treatment (hence the experiments with Adam and other guinea pigs) and with the last vials of serum (the stuff used to keep Adam alive), has some new scienetist work with it. What that entails, I'm not sure. I guess is trying to make more of the stuff or something?

Clark saves the day, Adam discovers his "secret" and his deathbed confession was that Lionel had sent him to oversee Clark.

The show ends with Lionel contemplating suicide by putting a gun into his mouth.

This was probably my favorite episode of the season. It used story arcs in a positive manner to pave the way for the future. It's like the writers actually learned how to write. The entire episode had the feel of a movie. If Lana doesn't suspect Clark has powers then she has to be the biggest moron ever - but I guess I can let that slide since a little slicked back hair or some glasses hid the true identity of Superman. It will be interesting to see Lex take the reigns of the villian.

I liked it. Nice to see his powers slowly evolving. Can't wait to see Superman's return.

my favorite part was when adam shot at lana, the bullet actually hits Clark chest and sounded like a bullet clanging off of steel

Just watched this....

Question: Wouldn't it just be easier for Lionel to get a liver transplant than trying to figure out a way to bring dead people back to life? Yah, yah, Adam and the guy from the previous episode both died from the same "rare liver disease" too. Whatever.

I'll let the whole time anamoly slide I guess. I burst out laughing when Lex said: "Look Clark, I'm no expert on no expert on quantum tunneling or worm holes, but if minds like Einstein and Thorne believed time anamolies are possible, who am I to rule it out?" Indeed, Lex.

Anyway, Clark got the call ... but how did he figure out where Lana was in the time between the gun firing and the bullet striking Lana?

Dunno, maybe he's also got some sort of rare blood type that makes finding a donor really hard? Either way, it was pretty nice for them to go back to the whole "vial of blood" storyline and explain exactly why Lionel was so obsessed over it.

Didn't Lana tell Clark where she was right before the shot was fired?

Right before the shot was fired:

Clark: "Lana, where are you?!"

Lana: "I don't know, Clark! Please help me!"

The only explanation I can come up with is Clark heard the gun shot with his super hearing (doubtful since we didn't get to see the inside of Clark's ear though, heh) and was able to pinpoint where Lana was.

I like that they're using plot elements to tie things together but it looks like they're determined to use Kryptonite in a new way every episode. What's next, a Kryptonite and Jelly sandwich?

Hmm, now I really wish I could see that part again. It really wouldn't make sense for Lana to say that, seeing as she knew exactly where she was (the storage thing where she stored all of Adam's stuff).

That's what it sounded like to me too ("I don't know"), and I remember briefly wondering how the hell he knew where it was, but then I remembered the kryptonite bomb, and the kryptonite time travel and just shrugged my shoulders. Since I'm in the minority here and thought this episode was laughably bad (heaty laughter when Lana passed up not one, but three occassions to pick up Adam's weapon when he was injured, knowing full well he would use it to kill her), I'll stop there.
