Did I just hear that correctly? Did John Stewart just clearly use the F-word? Did anyone else catch this? It was right after they showed a clip of Bush saying the activist courts left the people one recourse. Then Stewart said "those f---ers." Wow I was shocked.

It was oddly shocking, even though it's completely legal, since it's cable tv. It's odd, though, since Jon Stewart was bleeped towards the end of his interview with Samuel L. Jackson. I wasn't paying close enough attention to hear what he was saying, but it couldn't have been worse than f--ker.

I don't mention it because it bothers me, I mention it because it was so odd. They always bleep out every other curse on the show so I just thought it was strange that they let such an obvious one go by. I have no "moral problem" with him saying whatever the hell he wants, but though cable can police themselves they almost always do bleep themselves. I just wish Comedy Central would stop editing themselves altogether.

You Americans (media) are pretty weird people with your fears of nudity and curse words. Hypocracy seems to live strong in your country.

With the recent crackdown on 'shock' radio, there is idle chatter about Howard and O&A (and others) going to satellite radio. Which in turn has elicited comments from Congressmen regarding leveling the playing field for over-the-air vs. cable TV and over-the-air vs. satellite radio competition by possibly extending FCC guidelines to pay services. Albeit those same Congressmen acknowledge the inherent difference in a subscription-style broadcast......

Comedy Central also plays South Park BLU unedited after 11PM. I watched a few minutes and it seemed intact.

Just for giggles, I'd like to see a "bleeped" version just once. It would be incoherent I'm guessing.

Crap. I usually watch the show at 7PM Eastern time and they showed a rerun instead of last night's show. Somebody must be afraid of the FCC.

On a related, yesterday I saw Spike TV was running a commercial for an "uncut" showing of Terminator last night. From the look of the promo the weren't going to censor it at all. Did anyone catch it?

I never understood that. You'd think that shows like that wouldn't have anyone watching that would be offended by nudity, and could only do huge things for the ratings, so why not?

Years ago, as a horny teenager, I wondered that about the USA Up All Night movies (you know, crappy B-movies hosted by Gilbert Goddfried (sp?)). Those were on pretty late at night on cable, and it just seemed to make no sense to censor them. Maybe they'd lose some advertisers, but with the big ratings boost it would give them, they'd more than make up for it. And hey, nudity.
